Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sam Turner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sam, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Most definitely, I certainly wish that I had started doing creative art’s more seriously at a younger age. I was always the loudest in the room, singing, writing songs and doing some form of art. I wish that I had taken my passion for music, and to be an entrepreneur more seriously from the get go, instead of worrying what people might think. I started singing when I was 5 -7 years old, but only really started taking it seriously and started writing music when I was 18 / 19 years old. At the time I started making music I was working on a building site as a constructive labourer, I am still currently working as mentor for young adults with autism, learning disabilities & complex needs, as well as making music and learning to start my business along with my podcast. I would have learnt so much more, in quicker succession as a child if I had of known this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. At the time when I signed my artist development platform deal for Bentley Records in New York City, I was working at a museum.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Sam Turner however the stage name I go by is L.A MUSE. I am a 23 year old rapper, singer, songwriter & model. I come from a small town In Stowmarket, Suffolk in the U.K. I have lived here my entire life. My whole brand and purpose is to inspire and elevate people who come from less fortunate backgrounds. To remind people that where you start in life does not necessarily mean that is where you will end up. I started messing around and learning other artists songs got the fun of it, then when I mastered other artists music I had an idea to start creating my own. When I realised the impact you can have on other individuals life’s through music, I have never looked back or wanted to anything else. I offer inspiration, motivation, positive vibes, and most importantly encouragement. The services I provide are a personality on social media and in person, the music I create, podcasts I am working on, along with business I am starting up this year. I have recently started to sell merchandise through Bentley Records & this is all made possible from Luca Dayz. My CEO, mentor, and most importantly my friend. Before I signed this deal with bentley Records I would release music through tune core off my own back, the only reason I am able to reach a larger audience & a bigger platform is because of Luca Dayz and &bentley Records, which is in fact what got my foot into the industry door. The problems that I solve through my creative arts and content is tackling issues to do with mental health, problems in todays world we wouldn’t necessarily talk about, following with equality, poverty, depression, anxiety, and many more topics that need light and and attention. What sets me apart from other artist in the same industry as me is the purity of my soul, the kindness behind my gestures, not to mention my positive attitude and good intentions. These are traits and attributes I attain that will never fade or change regardless of how successful and abundant I become. My routine is water in the morning, followed by my daily meditation and gym at 5am before I go to my 9-5 as a mentor. I want clients, followed and possible collaborators to understand about me is the genuineness about my intentions, and that this is entirely so that I can give back to the world. I am most proud that through all of the hardships I have been through, my spirit, soul and motives have not and will not change.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
From the get go, my journey has been fuelled by giving people hope, giving people inspiration, and most importantly giving back to my community, and the world. When we have been given such power, we understand this comes with such a responsibility. To be able to motivate and encourage millions of people to get up and make the changes in their life that they need: it’s much deeper than buying friends material possessions. Although there is plenty of material possessions that would help multiple households and individuals, I want to give people a voice, give people the opportunity to be heard, and to use my voice for those who don’t have the platform or opportunity to make a difference. To promote positive mindsets and healthy lifestyle choices. If I can use my music, and the lyrics within my music to make this change then I will do everything in my power to use it for the correct reasons. I want to help other artist and entrepreneurs to find it within themselves that they are capable, and that they posses the ability to complete anything.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I understood the power of reading other entrepreneurs books and success Story’s. The wisdom and knowledge behind reading books is one of the most valuable things you can do as an up and coming artist / entrepreneur. Reading new books can trigger new ideas and insight for new content and future collaboration. You may find that you resonate & reciprocate with the message and brand that they are sharing, delivering and providing about there experiences and previous projects. reading can improve and enhance your business knowledge, along with providing you with a better vocabulary and vision. Knowing that someone has done something that you’re trying to achieving and accomplish can have a huge effect on you positively. So the recourses that I wish I had of come across sooner is reading books.
