Sam, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Spirited Media is a creative communications collective built to support brands with our expertise in marketing. We work directly with the brands in the beverage and CPG space to tell their stories authentically and creatively through comprehensive social media campaigns.
Our mission is to make sure everyone has a chance to sit at the bar (figuratively and literally!). We want to amplify all voices to create an inclusive environment while shattering preconceived notions on how to market your product. We help build brand awareness, drive sales, and get your brand buzzed both online and off.
Sam, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My curiosity about the world and how people work sparked my initial interest in marketing and social media. As a solution-oriented person, being an entrepreneur challenges me on a daily basis. When I partnered with the Founder of Spirited Media, Alisa Langer, I was able to combine the two and build a career driven by a greater purpose. We’re always working on how to be a stronger partner to our clients and provide them with the best services using our expertise. Being able to see them thrive and grow, both online and in real life is exactly why we do what we do.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When you’re an entrepreneur, the only constant in your life is change so I learned quickly how important it was to lean into changes and adapt quickly. We officially launched during the pandemic and have had our share of challenges along the way. Luckily for us, we made a goal when we started this company to be solution-oriented, both when it comes to how we operate and how we help our clients. One of the challenges we face as a company is shattering the stigma around the stereotypical agency. Many of the brands we work with have struggled to find the right partner who can give them the time and effort they deserve. We are actively rebuilding the client and third-party relationship through custom and hands-on projects rather than the one-size-fits-all plan. This pivot didn’t happen overnight, but over an extended period of time where we focused on trust and transparency – both internally and externally.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been staying true to our mission, embodying our vision, and leading with authenticity. At the end of the day, our goal is to help people tell their story and build a loyal community. Because of this, we’re able to connect with brands who align with our mission and support them in what we do best.
