We recently connected with Sam Rassoul and have shared our conversation below.
Sam, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
My defining moment would ironically be my first moment with chiropractic care. After earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, I earned a job as a biomedical engineer with Boston Scientific Corporation, working in both their Miami and upstate New York plants on validation and verification projects. During this time, I endured an elbow injury one day while training at the gym. I was seen by several health care professionals, from medical doctors to physical therapists, but I was unable to heal and regain my former health status, which lead me down the path of anxiety, depression, and anguish. After brushing off suggestions from a friend of mine who insisted that I see a chiropractor, whom I had deemed to be “fake doctors,” I gave in to his persistence and saw a sports rehab chiropractor who changed my life. From being able to rehab and heal my elbow injury, to a sudden boost in energy, mental clarity, and increased mobility in my neck, back, arms and legs, I was truly in awe of the power of the human body when given the proper care via great chiropractic care. After much deliberation and research, including visiting and talking with several doctors of chiropractic, I knew I had found my calling in life and decided to make a career change, pursuing my doctorate at Logan College of Chiropractic in hopes of one day being a true health care healer and practitioner, serving my community with natural health via exceptional chiropractic and rehabilitation care!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As shared before, it was an injury to my elbow via working out, an injury that I was unable to get any relief or recovery from UNTIL I was seen and treated by a chiropractor, that changed the entire trajectory of my career and life path. When I decided to make the momental career change from a successful biomedical engineer to pursuit of a doctorate of chiropractic, I did so with the passion in my heart that I would dedicate my time and efforts to becoming the best natural health care doctor I could be. This passion fueled my fire of desire to the immense learning and application of nutrition, functional rehab, soft tissue rehabilitation, and enhancement of optimal bodily function via natural treatment and care; tools that I continue to use today to provide my patients with the best and most patient-centric care to meet their health and wellness goals.
Cleverly nicknamed “The Stress Doc” around the south Florida area, my lectures to corporations and companies around the area focused on stress and the management of all 3 different types of stress : structural, chemical, and emotional. My aim from day 1 has been to arm my community with the knowledge and know-how of their health in order to make the best and most informed decision in regards to their wellness goals, for when it comes to health care, I am merely the co-captain to the patient on their journey to better health and wellesss. I strive to provide my patients with the treatment, knowledge, and educational tools they need to achieve any and all of their health goals to live their best life, and we are able to do this by attacking their sources of stress and combatting them via great chiropractic care, soft tissue rehab, food inflammation testing, enzyme nutrition, and neurologically-enhancing guided meditation and reset.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Aside from knowledge of the field of study, the most important element of my success has been my ability to listen and communicate throughly and openly with my patients in regards to their needs and desires. I never try to enforce my belief systems on my patients, but use my knowledge and understanding of the human body to provide ALL of the information I can to allow my patients to make THEIR decision in regards to what they hope to achieve with their health and wellness goals.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My non-threatening approach to sharing information and education on how to live a healthier and happier lifestyle. I aim to connect with my community first, establish myself as a contributing member of society through my continuous efforts of spreading the word of proper health and wellness in a supportive and welcoming manner. This approach has helped solidify my reputation as a doctor who truly cares about the well-being of BOTH his patients and non-patients, for I have helped many find the proper practitioners to meet their health goals, even if it wasn’t me.
