Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sam Haas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sam, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Nashville. The biggest risk I have ever taken.
I gave myself a timeline once COVID finally started to settle and life was approaching a “normal” close to the one we all knew prior. I told myself January 2022, I’m making the move; with or without a job, not knowing a soul and bringing the dream I’ve always had with me.
My dream has always been to play and write music. Nashville is the perfect place for that, but it was never going to be easy.
Luckily, my roommates are gems and created a safe home base for me while I navigated this new city. They never tell you creating a brand new support system can be an adventure. I finally found friends, that are now practically family. I finally found comfort in going out alone and playing songs for strangers. I finally found the piece of me that felt empty back home.
The biggest risk you take can produce the biggest reward. So do the things that scare you most and enjoy every minute of it!

Sam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My grandfather, Opa, has always been my biggest reason for diving headfirst into music. He was heavily involved in all facets of music and constantly singing. I knew in high school that music was going to be the thing I wanted to do. I taught myself how to play to guitar and started writing songs. My guitar and my basement were the safest space to me.
In 2018, after years of writing and playing shows are town, I decided it was finally time to release my own music under the name HAAS, my last name. It is a tribute to my late-grandfather and allows me to carry his legacy on. Finally, in 2019, my first EP “Love & Loss” was born, followed by singles in 2020 & 2021.
I finally decided in 2022 to move to Nashville to grow and start collaborating with artists from all genres and really grow the craft.
HAAS will be releasing new music in 2023!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Getting to create art that brings people together is the most rewarding. Music is the glue that brings us all together; it truly is MAGIC.
I love hearing stories from listeners about how much they related to the lyrics or how it helped them get through a period in their life.
It makes it all worth it!

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
SHARING IS CARING! Share share share share share. Share with everyone!
Add our songs to your playlists, use it in videos, and truly enjoy the music.
Everything helps and we truly appreciate it!
