Alright, Sam thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My background was always rooted in sports, media, and content. I was teaching professional athletes how to create content for their brand deals when the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) legislation passed. I worked at an NIL marketplace, establishing an educational platform for student-athletes to learn how to create content for NIL deals. After traveling to top-name universities and teaching athletes, there was enough demand for me to walk away and go all in on chasing my dream—helping as many athletes as possible build a brand that will outlive their playing careers.

Sam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
What sets me apart in this space is that I teach college athletes how to edit video content. I was a video editor at ESPN and learned to do everything I did there in an 8-hour shift on expensive software from my phone. This allows me to teach athletes how to take advantage of the opportunities in front of them without taking time away from their sport. My curriculum is backed by my education; I earned my master’s in Media Psychology and conducted the first-ever NIL study. It was a neuromarketing study comparing the differences between user-generated NIL advertisements that college athletes made, in comparison to professionally produced commercials. I proved that an advertisement featuring an athlete eating a protein bar and talking about it outperformed a Buick commercial.
How did you build your audience on social media?
100% of my sales have come from making free educational instagram content. I’m not viral… I just provide free information to a niche that is untapped… All my sales have been inbound… I don’t promote myself on a million platforms. I run an entire business from 6,000 followers. The secret is turning your followers into a community. I can’t tell you how many free calls I’ve taken. I give without looking to “get” and I think my audience knows I genuinely want to provide them as much value as I possibly can.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I had an athlete tell me their dream brand was Quest Nutrition.. a massive brand with a million followers on instagram. The athlete had less than 5k followers. I helped her create content for the brand BEFORE pitching herself. It turned into a long term cash deal.
