Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sam Glover. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sam , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How has Covid changed your business model?
After 4 years of post Covid life I can finally elaborate on how life as a creative has changed from life before the world shut down. The first change that I have noticed is outreach. Most work nowadays and new clientele comes from social media and industry trends opposed to word of mouth or personal connections on how it was before. Now with this being said I do feel like since enough time has changed the blalace or personal connections to social media connectivity has evened out to 60/40 in favor of social media. I have learned to incorporate both sectors in order to be successful in this industry and to put my pride aside when reaching out to potential patrons.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For the ones new to my brand I am a media consultant agency that specializes in Wardrobe styling, Photography, Videography, media staffing, and social media management. I have been active in this field since 2017 and have serviced 20 different brand shoots, commercials, and music videos. I have the opportunity to work with interscope, Atlantic, Freebandz,1017 records, viacom, and def jam records. I have also partnered with Tiffany & Co, Tory Burch, Kulture Misfits, and countless local brands in the southeast Region. What sets me apart from other brands in the industry is my attention to detail, and open line of communication. I pride myself on being the best business relationship that you have encountered in your service business. What I want potential clients to know that when they do business with me not only will they get a life changing experience, they will get an individual that they can trust will always have their best interest in mind.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
In the beginning stages of my business I saved a total of $1250 dollars to start my account, purchase my LLC and grab the necessary items it takes to become a personal stylist. Bobby pins, hair scrunchies, safety pins, sunglasses, bracelets, earrings and the list goes on about the ins and outs that comes along with styling. As the business grew and the clientele increased and the status of the clientele progressed I started to invest anywhere between 2,500-5,000 dollars in the summer for the last 5 years to add value and necessary additions to be successful going forward.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My Strategy for growing my clientele has had to adapt according to contrast changes that creatives have faced in the last 10 years of the economy. At first word of mouth was my best way of attracting new clients that have similar interests and approaches when it came to servicing their needs. Around he covid era I had to shift the change into more social media based that brought the most new clients that I had experienced in my short career but was not as consistent as it was in the beginning of my career. I have now merged both strategies and have experienced a steady climb in my business and have proven to be fruitful so far.
