Taking the leap to quit a well-paying job and start my own business, Aerial Pointe Drone, was indeed a significant risk. The decision wasn’t made lightly, it required significant belief in my entrepreneurial abilities. The fact that I was unhappy with my previous job I think shows my determination to pursue my passion and create something meaningful. One of the primary risks associated with starting any business is the financial aspect. Investing a substantial amount of money into your venture without any guarantee of success can be daunting. This risk requires careful planning and financial management to ensure the viability and sustainability of your business.
Additionally, venturing into the drone industry presented its own set of risks and challenges. As a relatively new and evolving industry, I had some uncertainties about market demand, competition, regulatory requirements, and breaking out into the market. Adapting to changing technologies and keeping up with industry trends also requires continuous learning and flexibility.
However, taking calculated risks often leads to great rewards. I wanted to be a unique business amongst the drone industry not just specializing in one specific area but having a broad range of the types of drone work I would do. The fact that my business has become profitable and successful today is a testament to my perseverance and hard work. It demonstrates that my decision to quit my job and start Aerial Pointe Drone was well-founded and has paid off.
By taking this risk, I have not only gained financial independence and the ability to do what I love but have also built a business that I am so proud of. My name is Sam Frontino, and I am the proud owner of Aerial Pointe Drone, a drone company based in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. My passion for flying, photography, videography, and content creation dates back to my childhood. I was always captivated by the idea of flight and even spent countless hours playing Microsoft flight simulator as an adolescent. As I moved to northern Virginia, I began the process of obtaining my private pilot’s license. When drones started gaining popularity, I found myself incredibly fascinated by them. When I finally got my hands on my first drone, initially for recreational purposes, I was amazed by the attention my aerial footage received. It was a pivotal moment that sparked my interest in starting a drone business.
That very night, I stayed up researching everything I could find about starting a drone business. I delved into the licenses and certifications I needed, how to register my business, and even obtained an EIN to start an LLC. By the next day, I felt well-versed in the fundamentals of the drone business world.
As I continued my research, I noticed that most drone companies specialized in specific categories or subsets of services. However, I wanted to break the mold and offer a different approach. I aimed to provide complete customer satisfaction by offering any type of drone service requested by clients, as long as I knew I could deliver exceptional results.
That’s how Aerial Pointe Drone came to be – a company driven by my passion for flying and creating stunning visual content.
The equipment that I use is state of the art, DJI drones. I currently have 4 drones ranging in size and capability. What sets us apart from others is a commitment to not only the technical aspects of aerial photography but also the creative and business drivers you aim to achieve through high-quality aerial photography in media, marketing, branding and advertising efforts. In addition Aerial Pointe Drone through its sister brand, Aerial Pointe media provides content, creation, and strategy. Put quite simply Aerial Pointe Drone is not just a service provider, but a business partner. What I most proud of with Aerial Pointe Drone and media is that we are an imaginative company more than providing services we value understanding the businesses with whom we are partnering. For example, with one client, we were hired to create aerial photography for a new branding and marketing campaign for a healthcare provider. Instead of just capturing photographs we also understood the feelings and decisions they wanted to create in their customers. That understanding, and that commitment to being a creative force on our clients teams and what sets us apart is represented in the fact that I’ve had so many success stories where we have been able to help develop a brand or an organization or an event or local tourism business, because we’ve taken time to understand how the content will be used who it is targeted to reach and how we can bolster engagement. What I want people to know more than anything is that at Aerial Pointe Drone we strive for excellence only. We deeply care about doing work for not only large clients but small and local businesses. What we like to do to give back is offer our services at local charity events to help raise money for whatever charity went we are auctioning services for. Giving back to the community is just as important to us as being apart of the community.
