We were lucky to catch up with Sam Cook recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sam, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Everyone has a sphere of influence from which we can affect positive changes in the world. A person who is paying attention to the world around them, and the people that inhabit it, will try to make a difference, be it personal or professional.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In 2017, I suffered a TBI; I was in a coma for several days and miraculously woke up. I was working at a law firm at the time, and made a coma-epiphany career pivot; I received a fellowship and scholarships to Naropa University’s MFA program at the Kerouac school. While studying here, I taught classes as an adjunct at Naropa and volunteered at the local high school, and I also helped start Tiny Spoon Literary Magazine, where I now serve as Treasurer. To maintain our balance we must keep moving.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
