We recently connected with Salsa Andrade and have shared our conversation below.
Salsa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
I believe I have many success stories both from a youth level to even a pro level. One that comes to mind is from a player named Hayes and that’s mostly because her mom actually came to me recently to talk about when Hayes and I first started training 3 years ago to where she is now. I remember our first session like it was yesterday, in the dark almost, a bit cold and both of her parents watching. Although she enjoyed the session, I’m sure that no one thought that anything would come out of it. Fast forward 3 years and Hayes success on the field has been absolutely incredible and I still train her when she has some free time from her team trainings. I’m not to take all the credit because I do believe that her will, her love for the game and growth in confidence got her there. It’s been an amazing journey to watch her growth and I believe that because of her drive to get better and grow there’s a lot more opportunities coming her way.
Salsa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
So my name is Salsa Andrade and I was born and raised half of my life in Luanda, Angola. For me, soccer has always been my passion since I was able to crawl. I grew up playing barefoot in the streets or anywhere we possibly could. Once I came to the United States, I lived in Rhode Island and that passion only grew stronger because even though I didn’t know the English language, I knew soccer. I played for my middle and high school teams. My dream was always to become a professional soccer player and if that never happened I wanted to be a coach and be for others who I needed when I was their age. I also played for the Community College of Rhode Island and then got recruited to play for North Carolina Wesleyan University where I graduated from. I was a graduate assistant there for a year, coached for a local club called TRYSA and moved to Fuquay-Varina in N. Carolina where I then joined NC Football Club Youth and also became the Assistant Coach for Wake Tech Community College. It was also then when I started Salsa’s11 Private Soccer Training with only 6 players to train. After a season with Wake Tech CC, I got the opportunity to be the Assistant Coach for DII Shaw University. Fast forward 3 years and I now train over 100 players from all different skill levels including at the pro level. I’ve dedicated and committed myself to the game and to the players seeking to get better technically and gain the confidence needed to execute on the field. Salsa’s11 has grown tremendously in such a short amount of time but it’s nowhere near finished. My goal is to impact as many players as possible and be part of their journey whatever that may be. At Salsa’s11 we have 1:1 , small group and team trainings for different skill levels. We love to challenge our players both physically and mentally so that they gain confidence, all while still having fun because we believe that the game needs to be fun. It’s the reason why we fell in love with it in the first place. At Salsa’s11, we believe our product to be premium, our energy is unmatched and our focus on a players mindset is one of the many areas that separates us from others.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I’ve built my social media audience or following by mostly word of mouth and serving my current clients as best as possible. Yes you have to post consistently and try to use popular hashtags and songs but ultimately the power of word of mouth for me has been tremendously huge. If anyone wants to grow in social media, you first have to grow in your current area because those people around you that believe in you will want to help by spreading your name and brand around.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth and instagram have been the best source of gaining new clients. I strongly believe that because of my commitment to my current clients and my ability to show who they are, how far they’ve come as well as share my story or life on instagram has opened many opportunities for me. I don’t believe I know there are many other players or people out there that still don’t know me, still know of Salsa’s11 and it’s my job to continue to serve my current clients so that they can tell their friends and to continue to promote myself on instagram as well.
