We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Salih Abdur-Rasheed. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Salih below.
Salih, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career.
I would incorporate digital literacy and blockchain education into the curriculum. Students should learn about the fundamentals of decentralized systems, cryptography, smart contracts, and the potential applications of blockchain technology. I would teach them about the ethical and regulatory implications of DeFi and Web3 technologies. It’s important to address topics such as security, privacy, data governance, and the potential risks associated with these systems.
I am currently a student in the ARCrypto.io. They are teaching me security of my finances in the decentralized space, how to invest, how to understand the implications and applications of the DeFi exchanges, how to earn passive income from Blue Chip Cryptos that have actual uses in the real world from real estate to titles of vehicles.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was born on Shaw AirForce Base in Sumter SC. My father was Army from California, and my mother was Navy from Sumter. I named my previous company Air Force Logistics after the base there.
I grew up primarily in the capitol city, Columbia SC, with two of my younger brothers and also attended school in Oakland CA with my father, step mother, 5 sisters and two brothers for awhile.
I got into the Trucking industry after bi-patella tendon ruptures left me unable to walk for months back in 2009. At that time I was training for my first bodybuilding contest, and to try out in a combine for the Carolina Panthers. The injuries occured while in a foot race with about 10 of my nieces and nephews. Amazingly both patellas popped like fireworks simultaneously. My surgeon in Lexington Medical Center, Columbia SC, said that was a rare occurrence.
I’ve been an Owner Operator in the transportation industry for many years, collaborating with various companies like Okan Express Transportation Inc. Chicago IL, Eagle Express Inc. Michigan, Sigler Trucking LLC Baker FL, MegaTrans Inc Cumming GA, KLLM Transport Atlanta terminal, Rosedale Transport Dalton GA, Flemming Trucking LLC Locust Grove GA, and owning a variety of semi trucks. 379 Peterbilts, Freightliner Columbias, and Cascadias. My customers ranged from Halliburton out in the oil fields of Kilgore Texas, to building skyscrapers in San Francisco CA, delivering onions and produce to up state New York, to Amazon contracts. Always on time and most occasions very early for delivery. Reefers, dry vans, flat beds, & step decks.
As of last year I assimilated into the largest U.S. employer, Walmart, as a Private Fleet Driver. It was unnerving transitioning to employee. The rewards have been outstanding. I am home weekly on a set schedule. We have laundry services for our uniforms. Showers, food, and so many amenities at our DC. Having a Team at DC 6054 (Distribution Center) home base of LaGrange GA that operate as a well oiled machine with hundreds of staff in our location alone. We have more Drivers than all other DC’s. That makes for a very culturally diverse, supreme personalities and backgrounds atmosphere.
I am most proud of my two teen daughters, Aneesa & Randi. I have sacrificed so many years over the road and not being home experiencing them grow has been extremely difficult. I am also proud of my resilience in the face of the plummeting rates and the many undesirable characters in the industry that can make you want to throw in the towel. I am always maintaining a high level of excellence.
I want the readers to know that absolutely nothing comes easy. They may appear to come easy for some, but that is only a facade. True manifestation begins within and needs motion combined with movement/execution to spark physical results in this realm.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
There’s a plethora of material, books and audiobooks on social media that have shaped my thinking and path. Going back 30 years, Rich Dad Poor Dad and the entire Robert Kiyosaki line of books. Behold a Pale Horse. The Creature from Jekyll Island. Redemption in Law first to Third Editions. Black’s Law dictionaries. Blockchain technologies. Crypto reading. Decentralized finance literature. How to sell literature. Some magazines were Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Don Diva, Joe Weider, GQ, Psychology, Soma Breath Work-Mindvalley.
My little brother, Travis Dontrell Taylor a.k.a honcho_da_boss (Instagram-TikTok Superstar), Joe Dispenza, Dr. Peter Attia, Andrew Huberman, Bill and Shawn Phillips, Joe Rogan, 19 Keys, Billy Carson.
The movie La Bamba with Lou Diamond Phillips is noteworthy because my beautiful spanish teacher in Oakland California, King Estates, played that movie for us in class and I fell in love with learning spanish from that moment back in the mid 1980s.
My friend Antonio Gonzalez Vega from Puerto Rico is another noteworthy individual whom single handedly drilled me on spanish and caused me to actually be able to understand and have a basic working knowledge of the language. Thanks Antonio.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn thinking, I had all the answers. That everything is black and white, right and wrong. They are not. There are many shades and colors of truth on the spectrum of life. I had to learn how to learn and think in a different way. Much of that is due to shedding old friends and welcoming new ones that are on a journey to mental health with licensed therapists. The Landmark Forum, and The Advance Landmark Forum were life changing experiences that taught me a skill set of how to actively listen and speak more precisely. Thank you Taleinna Simon (@taleinnav)
Gven Sariol of the ARCrypto.io ( Instagram: Wealthrenegade ) and his Team, has totally deconstructed my view of traditional financing and is actively teaching me how to create passive income in Decentralized finance. Crypto. Blockchain. Web3. Digital Security. Thank you Gven. CryptoSwami. Igor Statsenko Life in Yellow.
