We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Salathia Graham. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Salathia below.
Alright, Salathia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In order to be successful, it is my firm belief that you have to first be confident. If you don’t believe in yourself, you’ll never convince anyone else to believe in you or support you.

Salathia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Salathia aka The Face Architect and I am a freelance pro makeup artist here in El Paso, Texas. My goal is to provide great service by way of my makeup artistry and to restore confidence, one client at a time. I’m most proud of the fact that I have such a diverse client base and the majority of my clients see me as a member of their own family. For potential clients, I want them to know that beauty is ALWAYS there and I will always work increase your confidence in that!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I once had a client who had intense cystic acne scarring that had built up the courage to finally have the experience of booking a professional makeup artist. When she came and sat in my chair, she began to explain why she had so much skin discoloration and I could see the defeat in her eyes. I typically offer/ask to do before and after pics and she tearfully declined. I explained to her that there are certain things we can do to hide the discoloration and upon proving that, she was blown away! Her words, “I never thought I could look THIS good.” This particular client always comes to mind because she booked me during a time that I wasn’t feeling so confident about my abilities. Needless to say, she was the inspiration I needed at the time to just keep going!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
If there is anything I had to unlearn it would definitely be the concept of “ugly” or “unpretty,” because there is no such thing. Human beings are uniquely beautiful in that we carry something that cannot be duplicated when it comes to personal style. People tend to find their beauty when they encounter someone who reassures them that their beauty does exist.
