We were lucky to catch up with Saint Omani recently and have shared our conversation below.
Saint , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
Wow ! If I could go back in time and started my business I definitely would! I wished I could’ve started my business in high school which was 2017. I started my business in 2021 after the pandemic. During that time I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I felt like my college career was over when they gave me this huge amount to pay the following month, I couldn’t get the money so I left. My fashion dreams was put to the side during 2020. Starting sooner would have been a better opportunity for me because I would have known what exactly I wanted in my life. The steps that I’m taking now. I felt like after I graduated high school I was kind of lost, I knew I wanted to leave my hometown, I knew I wanted to be in fashion but I just didn’t have the mindset and the courage to go after whatever I was dreaming of! If I would have believed in myself and stopped letting others interrupt my dreams then my life would’ve started a long time ago.
Saint , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hey, my name is Saint Ömani, I’m from Louisville, Kentucky. I started my business called The Amré in 2021. THE AMRÉ is a vegan nail polish brand I started to introduce myself into the fashion industry. I noticed behind the scenes that manicure are a big/small part behind the scenes during a fashion runway. I thought starting small would help me with the love I have for fashion. Still giving myself that peak into my dreams that I had/have.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn was to know that’s okay to get help and definitely okay to have dreams. I felt like I lived in a world that was never okay. Telling my present self and future self that the sky is the limit and make sure you take care your inner soul as well. Asé
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
What’s illustrates me right now is me connecting to me. Me listening to my inner self and being able to be authentic to myself. Loving my moment and struggle, understanding that everything is going to be okay. I smile through the billshhh and I’m loving the moment
