We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Saint Don a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Saint , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
“Saint Narcos” produce by my boy Marcel White. This recent release was a special piece of work to me for sure. The name it self speaks for itself. I wanted to give more of the side where I came from, my battle with life and addiction on drugs, I overcame alot. Not only just about drugs but it’s deeper fasho! Over the last year when I was working on the project I was thinking music is a strong key I use to express myself now, and we all know music is powerful so I’m like I gotta start being the drug in this music I’m putting out, I felt like now I’m at that point of my career were I found a pocket for the people, I felt like this piece of art I created with the “Saint Narcos” vibes was gone be able to hit where I needed it to, like drugs . So boom we got * Saint Narcos”.
Saint , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started making music early I always loved to just make songs when I was coming up, I grew up around cousins who wanted to rap to so they had me on it early..
I feel like that’s what actually helped me in today with making music of course I had a few artist I listened to in study when I was coming up, but I definitely think that played a big role and what helps me set myself a part today.
I’m proud of a lot of things, I mainly just proud of my self not quitting. Being focused for me knowing I gotta keep moving forward with my career, it’s a journey fasho.
The main thing I want my people and supporters to know I appreciate them the most for the support, everybody thats been rocking and ain’t stopped since day one, I’ma make sure I keep making history with everything I do.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I can name I alot things on the cool. I just know it took me a minute to get my mind right and to get to this point where I was this focused. I had to realize my purpose I went through a lot as a child losing both my parents was one my biggest battles, so I really just got to that point I was feed up , I had to regroup myself and turn on a whole another mindset.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Naw not really, I would say I wish I would’ve just been going as consistent as I am now, but other then that I wouldn’t change to much.
