We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sahar RAHMATI a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sahar, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I really wish I had started earlier, but the pressure from work didn’t allow me to. Honestly, up until a few years ago, it wasn’t that easy to just dive into it, and I kept postponing it. But now, I’m focusing more on myself and my work, and I hope to eventually expand my efforts onto platforms like YouTube as well.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve had a deep passion for art since childhood, which led me to pursue Animation as my major in university. Later, I specialized in Graphic Design with a focus on Illustration. In Iran, I was fortunate enough to collaborate with some of the most well-known studios, which allowed me to gain valuable experience in the industry. After moving to the U.S. with my spouse, I started sharing my work on Instagram. Currently, I’m focused on learning and creating video content, constantly aiming to bring a unique and fresh perspective to everything I do.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
To support artists and foster a thriving creative ecosystem, society should provide accessible platforms for showcasing work and invest in arts education. Offering grants, funding, and mentorship programs for emerging talents can make a huge difference. Promoting diversity and recognizing the cultural and innovative value of creative industries is also key to helping artists like myself grow and contribute.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Honestly, the key is to start with whatever tools and opportunities you have at hand and not wait for the perfect moment. Don’t overthink or delay just begin. Perfectionism can be a real obstacle, and trust me, I have to remind myself of this constantly too! The most important thing is consistency and being authentic in your content. Over time, your audience will grow as long as you’re passionate and persistent.
