We were lucky to catch up with Sagi Chen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sagi , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk I’ve ever taken was moving to NYC. Before making the leap, I had never even visited the United States. I grew up in Israel, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve felt this deep connection to American culture, especially music. It’s always been more than just an interest for me—it’s like this gravitational pull I couldn’t ignore. So, at age 21, I decided to follow that feeling, pack my bags, and move to the Big Apple to chase my dreams.
The first few months were a blur of uncertainty—adjusting to a new country, a different culture, and a completely different pace of life. But what kept me going was the belief that I had to take this risk. It was a leap of faith, knowing that it would push me to grow, adapt, and learn in ways that wouldn’t have been possible if I stayed in Israel. That big risk, along with the many smaller risks I take every day, has led me to where I am now—co-founding 4Cee Sessions, connecting with incredible talent, and building something I’m truly passionate about. Along this journey, I’ve met incredible individuals who have inspired me to become better and keep taking action. Without that move, none of this would’ve happened. Looking back, it was terrifying, but it was the best decision I ever made.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Sagi Chen, co-founder of 4Cee Sessions, a live podcast and performance platform that connects music, artists, and fans in a unique, interactive way. Growing up in Israel, I always felt this deep connection to American music and culture. At 21, I made the bold decision to move to New York City, driven by a passion to immerse myself in the heart of the music industry. It was a huge risk, but it’s led me to where I am today, building something I truly care about.
4Cee Sessions is all about bringing live music experiences to the forefront. We host live podcasts and performances where artists perform their music and share their stories in real-time, with the entire event recorded and filmed for publication across all platforms. Everything we do is live, creating an authentic connection between the artist and the audience. We don’t just create content; we build experiences that engage fans on a deeper level.
What sets us apart is our ability to merge the live, raw energy of performances with the intimacy of podcasts, all while making sure everything is recorded, filmed, and shared with the world. This combination of live action and multi-platform distribution is what allows us to break the fourth wall, offering a unique way for fans to interact with artists. I’m most proud of how far 4Cee Sessions has come, and the relationships we’ve built with talented artists who trust us to showcase their music and tell their stories. Our work is about more than just putting on a show—it’s about fostering a community, breaking down barriers, and offering something fresh and engaging in an industry that’s constantly evolving.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my view, society has a tremendous role to play in supporting artists, creatives, and a thriving creative ecosystem. There’s a common belief that social media and AI are causing art and music to lose their value, but I strongly disagree. In fact, I think the opposite is true—society is more eager than ever to preserve and celebrate art and music.
Thanks to social media, fans have unprecedented opportunities to connect with their favorite artists. They can learn more about their creative processes, engage with them directly, and even form personal relationships in ways that were never possible before. According to Music Business Worldwide, Universal Music Group reported a remarkable 33% annual revenue growth from fan-centric initiatives. This growth comes from creative approaches like fan subscriptions, exclusive merch, and direct artist-to-fan connections. These numbers show how deeply fans are engaged—they’re not just consuming art passively but actively supporting their favorite artists, even financially.
On the other hand, we can’t ignore the rise of AI. While it has made creating art and music more accessible, it has also raised concerns about the authenticity of creativity. Society’s role here is to acknowledge the value of AI as a tool while continuing to support the human aspect of art—the passion, the story, the real-time experiences that can’t be replicated by machines. Whether it’s attending live events, engaging with artists on social media, or purchasing work from creators, our mission should be to celebrate and invest in the art we believe in.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The main goal driving my journey is simple: staying as close to music and art as possible while helping others become the best versions of themselves. For me, it’s all about leading others to greatness and making an impact that lasts.
Maya Angelou once said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” That quote has stuck with me for years, and it’s a big part of why I do what I do. Music has this crazy ability to make you feel something—to connect, heal, and inspire—and being part of that process is the most fulfilling thing I can imagine.
As a music fan, I’ve always wanted to share that feeling with others. You know the way a song can stop you in your tracks or make your heart race? That’s what drives me every day—creating, building, and sharing those moments that hit people in the best way possible.
