We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sadie Varius. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sadie below.
Sadie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
My preferred hero is Batman.
Batman’s origin story involves personal tragedy, but he couldn’t help turning his weakness into a source of strength. I love this aspect.
I use my own life experiences, both positive and negative, to create music that reflects my unique perspective and resonates even more with others.
Sometimes I face obstacles and setbacks during my journey. Batman teached me that I can use these challenges to grow and become better at what I do.
I love the fact that Batman watches over us, even when we don’t think about it. He is a quiet force on which we can rest when we feel the need. He is very strong and that inspires me a lot.
Whenever I have a doubt I think of all the strenght he releases on his passage. Batman’s strong sense of justice and moral code reminds me of the importance of integrity and staying true to my values. As a musician, It’s essential to use my music to convey emotions that align with my beliefs.
Also Batman is known for his ability to adapt to different situations and use various skills. As a musician, being versatile and open to experimenting with different musical genres and styles is very interesting. It helps me evolve and stay relevant in a constantly changing environment.

Sadie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Sadie Varius, I am a violinist and producer. My passion for music manifested early in life.
I could naturally play anything by ear and transcend it into my music production. I grew up in Paris where I studied piano and violin. One year ago, I moved to NY and started producing and have grown so much since then.
I believe that we can say way more things with music than with words.
My music is available through the main music streaming services, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One day I was disheartened and energyless. However, I remembered the values and lessons I’ve learned from Batman, such as resilience and perseverance. I decided to face this challenge head-on, much like Batman confronts the darkness in Gotham.
I started by exploring different genres and styles of music and I pushed myself to collaborate with other musicians and artists, which was initially outside my comfort zone. These collaborations not only exposed me to new ideas but also gave me inspiration from unexpected sources, just as Batman draws strength from his surroundings. I began immersing myself in various art forms, photography, and even nature. These experiences helped me reconnect with the emotions and stories I wanted to convey through my music.
As I persevered through this creative block, I realized that it wasn’t just about overcoming a temporary obstacle but about evolving as an artist. It was a transformative journey that allowed me to discover new aspects of myself as a musician.
Ultimately, I emerged from this challenging period with a renewed sense of purpose and a more profound connection to my music. The experience taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the power of pushing through adversity. I channeled Batman’s unwavering determination to overcome adversity and achieve his goals during this journey, which continues to inspire me to this day.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
For a significant portion of my musical journey, I held the belief that every music note had to be absolutely perfect. I thought that perfection was the only way to gain recognition and respect.
This pursuit of perfectionism, however, was often hindering my creativity. I’d spend an excessive amount of time fine-tuning every detail of a music, constantly second-guessing myself, and feeling frustrated when things didn’t meet my unrealistic standards.
But music is a deeply personal and emotional art form. It’s about expressing oneself authentically and connecting with an audience on a profound level. Perfection, as I had defined it, was a barrier to this connection. and I realized that this pursuit of perfection was destroying my creativity and causing unnecessary stress. It was also slowing down my output, preventing me from sharing my music with the world.
I decided to unlearn the notion that perfection was the ultimate goal and embraced the idea that imperfections could be beautiful and emotionally resonant. I began to focus more on the raw emotion in my music rather than getting pushed down by minute technical details.
This shift in mindset allowed me to produce music more freely and frequently. I started sharing my work more openly and received feedback from my listeners, which helped me grow as an artist. I discovered that authenticity in my music was far more valuable than striving for unattainable perfection.
Unlearning the need for perfection was a liberating experience that not only improved my music but also enhanced my overall well-being. It taught me that imperfections make us human, and that they often lead to the most profound artistic connections with everyone. This lesson in unlearning perfectionism has made me a more open, creative, and adaptable musician.
