Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sade Page. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sade, thanks for joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
Being laid off from my safety net job put me in the position to work harder as an artist and business owner. I started my business, Proud of Us Entertainment LLC with my last $300. My company provides a wide variety of live music services across the country. My most popular band is a duo project called JESSSADE. My business has been successfully in formation for three years now. One of my favorite sayings is everything happens for a reason. Had I not lost my job I probably would not have taken that leap of faith.

Sade, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a recording artist from Houston, Texas. Most commonly known for live performances as a lead guitarist and vocalist. I am also the CEO of Proud of Us ent. LLC, an entertainment company that facilitates live music.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I was an aspiring artist at a young age. I was very eager and trusting of everyone. I wasted a lot of time, energy and money when the best option was to be still. Just because you’re busy doesn’t mean you have motion.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I reached a point in my career where I felt stagnant and bored. Felt like things were never going to happen for me. I shut down for a while, stepping away from the noise that comes with my lifestyle. Allowing me to reevaluate and build new disciplines. Posting on social media regularly, taking care of my body with daily cardio. Regular cleanses from alcohol. These are all things that I did to better myself as a person, but I didn’t realize the world was watching and my career began to pick up. I received encouragement and motivation from supporters that I didn’t think were still watching. I was even blessed to perform my first stadium tour. I did my part and God did the rest.
