It all started with a deeply personal experience that shaped the core of Blakely Bath & Co. Losing my daughter, Blakely, was a profound moment that left me grappling with grief and searching for solace. In the midst of this pain, I found healing through the power of self-care natural remedies. During this time I also birthed my son Eli who was born with eczema in which I struggled to find high quality natural skincare solutions that actually worked!
As a Registered Nurse, I’ve always been passionate about empowering others to prioritize their health and well-being. But it was during this period of loss and healing that I truly understood the transformative impact of self-care. Inspired by my own journey, I set out to create a brand that not only offered effective solutions but also served as a beacon of hope for others facing their own challenges.
Blakely Bath & Co is more than just a skincare brand- it’s a testament to resilience, empowerment, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel happy and healthy. Our mission is to empower women to embrace self-care, heal from within, and emerge stronger than ever. Of course! My name is Sade and I’m the founder of Blakely Bath & Co. My journey to where I am today is a blend of passion, perseverance, and personal experiences.
As a Registered Nurse, I’ve always been deeply committed to helping others and promoting wellness. However, it was a series of personal challenges that ultimately led me to create Blakely Bath & Co. The loss of my daughter, Blakely, was a pivotal moment that sparked a journey of healing and self-discovery.
In the midst of grief, I turned to natural remedies and self-care practices as a means of finding solace and restoring balance to my life. Through this process, I discovered the transformative power of clean, natural skincare products and the profound impact they can have on both physical and emotional well-being.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
At Blakely Bath & Co, our journey to building a passionate audience on social media began with a heartfelt story shared on Facebook. We opened up about our own experiences of tragedy, showing resilience in the face of adversity. Through our story, we inspired others with the transformative power of self-care, healing, and empowerment, all fostered by embracing natural skincare and wellness products.
Our Facebook presence became a platform for storytelling, where we didn’t just promote products but shared authentic narratives that resonated with our audience. We spoke candidly about our struggles and triumphs, creating a sense of connection and trust with our followers.
Here’s some advice for those starting to build their social media presence: Be authentic in storytelling, focus on resilience and empowerment, engage with your audience, use visuals effectively, stay consistent and persistent, provide educational content, foster community, explore collaborations, adapt based on feedback, and measure success with analytics. By staying true to your brand values, sharing compelling stories, and engaging authentically with your audience, you can build a strong social media presence that resonates with your target audience and drives meaningful connections.
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
Blakely Bath & Co chooses to sell primarily on its own website, blakelybathco.com, to focus on building a personal brand and maintaining control over the customer experience. While selling on other platforms like Etsy or Amazon could increase brand awareness, the brand prefers the benefits of brand control, direct customer relationships, customization, flexibility, and data ownership that come with selling on its own platform. However, there are challenges such as lower initial brand visibility, the need for marketing investment, financial burden, inventory management, and competition from established brands and marketplaces. Despite these challenges, the brand sees the value in owning its platform and fostering direct connections with its audience.
