We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sacha Walton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sacha below.
Sacha, appreciate you joining us today. Some of the most interesting parts of our journey emerge from areas where we believe something that most people in our industry do not – do you have something like that?
There is this narrative with today’s business owners that you should niche down. I don’t believe in niching down, I believe in niching accordingly. This is something I think most people in general disagree with. Now don’t get me wrong, people should have a clear message, but there is a way of having multiple business ventures that are connected to each other.
The process of niching accordingly is strategically tapping into your skillsets, and passions, and establishing a plan to implement the process. Identify the different platforms that support your overall purpose and message. I am a business strategist who has successfully established a business ecosystem between my brand and company.
My favorite saying is, “The foundation of every industry is business” and if you are skilled in a way that allows you to show up as an expert while keeping your message the same, then why niche down? Niching down will limit a person from operating within their gifts and talents, keeping them out of rooms they can navigate in. Do not restrict yourself, but learn how to be strategic in what you are doing. Find what can lead your brand or business and attach supporting assets with it.
I’ll end my response to this question with this if The Pepsi Cola Company niched down, would we have Frito Lay and different versions of the brand represented in other countries? Major corporations strategically manage multiple services and brands under one umbrella. The small business owner can do it too without niching down.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a business strategist who helps entrepreneurs establish sustainable businesses while managing mental stability. I take a holistic approach to business by incorporating mindset, mental wellness, and strategic business practices for individuals to become the highest version of themselves for personal and business growth. The blueprint of success begins with you and a business is a reflection of who you are.
Having an ecosystem between my brand and company SWI Management Group affords me the opportunity to help entrepreneurs in different industries. I provide solutions to business owners who are just starting out, pivoting their businesses, and creatives who are embracing an entrepreneurial mindset shift.
I entered my industry over 20 years ago and evolving and cultivating an adaptable business has granted me the wisdom to help people create a business ecosystem that establishes multiple streams of income. I love showing up as a speaker and thought leader because I get to empower so many people through talks, 1:1 consultations, and as a contributing writer. My mission is to ensure everyone walks into their purpose as a business owner.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
There are many factors involved with building an audience on social media. Anyone who is starting in building their social media presence should consider having good content, consistency, marketing strategies, and engagement.
I have built my social media presence by changing my content, how often I post, and engagement. For example, in February 2022, I went from having 1k followers to over 5k on Facebook within four months of making the changes. Being strategic with how you post and understanding the algorithms is essential in building your audience.
Understanding the platforms, your brand or your business are other contributing factors to building an audience. Some businesses do well on certain platforms. The target audience is already highly active and the algorithm will do its job by pushing your content in their direction. When you are pairing quality content, videos, trends, hashtags, substance, and consistency will get you on the right track and you will see a difference.
I believe in having a marketing mix which means using all forms of marketing to increase your visibility to help build your social media pages as well as your digital footprint.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what has helped build my reputation within my market is being knowledgeable, consistent, visible, and showing up authentically. When working with my clients, I am straightforward and empathic at the same time. As a business strategist or coach, it is our job to lead our clients. People come to us because they trust the value we have shown, and they want results. When you help to provide breakthroughs within their processes, give them direction, and actionable steps to take in growing their business adds to the reputation.
Valuing trust and showing people that you are present for them and believe in their purpose extends such a level of excitement and gratitude from the clients. Word of mouth is evidence of the reputation that you have built.
