Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sabrina Roualdes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sabrina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Every project has something incredibly meaningful about it. Sometimes it’s the subject matter, other times it’s the impact it will have on a community or the world. What makes a project truly meaningful to me are the unspoken, sometimes subtle aspects of what each video represents and can bring up for the business owners I work with. Videography and photography are both massively moving mediums, and what I love about my niche is that I get to capture and amplify a brands mission and success. I love receiving an email from my clients once a project is completed, with them shocked at the quality and personal meaning of the end result to them. I love to be of service through this profession, it’s the greatest gift.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Videography is a profound medium with the potential to create massive change in the world. As an introverted and observant child, I noticed that early on in life. I noticed friends becoming vegan after watching a documentary, relatives calling up a loved one after watching a sad movie, or fans of Friends cutting their hair to look like the iconic, Rachel Green.
The power inherent in videos fascinated me, and I went full force into the industry when I was 17 years old. As the years went on I encountered all the mistakes in the book, found my niche, and eventually founded Untold Stories, a cinematic production house that specializes in helping brands and businesses create the content they need to grow in today’s video-centric industry.
What make’s us different is our psychology first approach, utilizing both the timeless and latest trends in video marketing principles to sky rocket a videos reach and impact on the viewer. Many videographers can make aesthetically pleasing videos, but if it isn’t seen by anyone or doesn’t leave a lasting impact on the viewer, then it’s missing something.
We work with clients ranging from entrepreneurs to corporate giants such as Charles Schwab, Jersey Mikes, and Spire Power Solutions. Through our collaboration, we’re proud to have achieved remarkable outcomes, elevating engagement across platforms, improving SEO, and driving sales. We’re able to do this because of our understanding of the viewer’s reaction to different cinematography and editing styles. Every detail is taken into consideration to seamlessly craft a piece of art that personally resonates with your target audience.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Being a business owner and a creative, I’ve found to be two different things. It took me a long time to realize that I am not a business owner, and I don’t need to operate like one to be successful. There is so much information out there about how to be successful as an entrepreneur and as important as it is to continue learning, the best learning comes from listening to your own inner voice and defining what success is to you.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I think the beauty of the creative journey is that it continually teaches you more about yourself. To be an entrepreneur and a creative is an intimate thing, it’s messy and uncomfortable but having a solid “why” behind the day to day struggles is what keeps you going. My core “why” for what I do, is to be of service. To me, being of service means serving my creative expression, serving my clients through a medium I’m continually mastering, and serving an intention or purpose beyond any single person. Each project brings with it a new intention, and I feel my job is to serve it to the best of my ability, pushing my own limits along the way, collaborating, and having fun through a medium I know and love to impact the world in the brightest way possible.
