We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sabrina Romero. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sabrina below.
Alright, Sabrina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
I had a client that came to me feeling stuck because she knew that in her career she would need to speak on stage and she had stage freight. She wanted to get over the fear so she can share her knowledge with the world. We did a hypnotherapy session and in that session she realized that she was afraid to be seen and once we worked through the false beliefs and emotions that created the fear she felt empowered and strong. A few weeks later she was asked to be a speaker at an event and she did AMAZING! Ever since that one speaking arrangement she has been offered several more and has spoken on many stages in different states. She is doing amazing!!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a certified Clinical/Transpersonal Hypnotherapist and VAT (Vibroacoustic Therapy) Practitioner. I wanted to help people feel empowered when they felt stuck. I read a book titled “Many Masters, Many Lives” by Brian Weiss and I noticed how a hypnotherapist was able to help a client who had several phobias that prevented her from living life, to becoming a confident person and free from her phobias. After reading that book I told myself that is exactly what I wanted to do, therefore I became a hypnotherapist.
I help clients who have anxiety, depression, and trauma. On the transpersonal side, I also help clients with past-life regressions and connect with the higher self. Clients come to me when they are stuck and don’t know how to move forward. We work with the subconscious mind which can open up parts that are very vulnerable and as we do the work shifts take place and eventually the client leaves with much clarity and awareness that allows them to move forward in a positive direction.
I recently got certified as a VAT Practitioner and I now offer vibroacoustic therapy, which is one of my newest services, to clients. VAT is a non-invasive, energy-based alternative approach to wellness. While vibroacoustic therapy cannot cure you of any disease, it is an effective, drug free modality that helps ease the symptoms of a number of conditions. Research and case studies have shown that VAT can help:
– Reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep
– Alleviate pain from arthritis, injuries, cancer and treatments
– Ease breathing issues from asthma and COPD
– Reduce blood pressure and aid in circulation
– Speed rehabilitation after stroke, cardiac surgery, and knee and hip replacement surgery.
– Alleviate many of the symptoms of MS and other progressive neurological diseases and disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease.
I use a practitioner cushion when working with vibroacoustic therapy.
When I use both VAT and Hypnotherapy it is an amazing and beneficial combo! Having the client’s body in a relaxed state using VAT makes the transition into hypnosis alot smoother and a great experience with lasting results. I am excited to offer these services!!
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe that what helped me succeed in my field the most was a mentor. Having training/knowledge is great, but having a mentor that has already done what you do and mastered the business really did help guide me in the right direction for success. My mentor provided info on the importance of networking, maintaining the finances, having several streams of income, always educating myself by learning updated info in my industry and being efficient. That also help me become more confident in my business and what I offer.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I had a moment where I was asked to be a speaker at an event. I prepared the slides and even made copies of the slides to share with others. When I arrived my laptop was not able to connect to the projector they had because I didn’t have the correct outlet and I didn’t have the cable that would adapt. I was so nervous and frustrated at the same time. I took about 10 mins before I had to speak to do some breathwork and just meditate, just to calm myself and refocus. I went up in stage and informed the audience that I had some technical issues and was not able to provide a powerpoint but that I will have three copies of the presentation going around for their review. As I spoke I provided some physical exercises that the audience could participate in, which involved the influence of hypnotherapy on the human mind. I knew since I didn’t have a visual that I would use a kinesthetic and audio exercise that would create a visual in their minds to create connection with what I was sharing. At the end everyone came to the front of the stage and asked to take pictures of the slides I made and all the resources I provided at the end. The Founder of the event told me that my presentation had the most positive feedback. That day I realized that sometimes improvising and resilience can bring great benefits!
