We recently connected with Sabrina Parr and have shared our conversation below.
Sabrina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
in 2022 I had a life-changing knee surgery, and then I had another one in 2023. I was diagnosed with something called Functional movement disorder. I knew this was going to change my life forever. I had to find out what else I was good at, passionate about and something that would help other people at the same time wouldn’t require me to use my body as much but more so my mind. This led me to searching for something and thats when I found coaching and working with kids was my thing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started running track in middle school. Ran in high school and did very well. Earned a full ride tack scholarship to Cal State University. Started my first job in broadcast/media working on air as a talent for ESPN radio in Cleveland ohio. I first started coaching right out of college for one year as an assistant coach at my old high school. The kids and the parents got on my nerves so I stopped and transitioned to just. being a trainer for athletes. Years later I started my own fitness company called MyFit Health and Fitness and started training and cooking for adults. i would train athletes on the side here and there but it wasn’t anything I was super passionate about yet. I created a 10-day food plan and a detox tea that really took off and i made over 6 figures in my first year helping people lose weight and get in shape. Once my kids turned 9 and 8. they expressed that they wanted to start running track so I tried to find them a track team with a good coach for them. I ended up becoming that good coach for them and here I am now
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
this goes back to my first story where I got injured
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Growing up without my parents and learning how to stay focused through all the adversity and trauma of not having them around
