We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sabrina & Dave Sauve. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sabrina & Dave below.
Alright, Sabrina & Dave thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
When we first made the decision to pursue music professionally in 2021, we knew that it wouldn’t be easy. We come from a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada, where pursuing the arts professionally is not very common, so we knew that we would be taking a risk. There were many aspects of the music industry that were new to us, and we had to learn as we went. Releasing our music to the world was scary, but we knew that our relationship had to come first no matter what. As a husband and wife duo, we learned that we had to put in the effort to maintain a healthy relationship, or there would be no music happening. Looking back, taking the plunge was the best decision we ever made. It has brought us on some of the most beautiful adventures that still seem unreal to this day. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in the future.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
From high school sweethearts to husband and wife Canadian country duo, Rosewood Ave has emerged onto the scene as a hot new act mixing traditional country with a contemporary sound. Thanks to their dedicated fan base, who have been tuning in to their livestream performances, Rosewood Ave has amassed over 3 million Facebook video views since their debut single in the Winter of 2021. Their recent single “Good Ole Days” embodies the feel-good country lifestyle and was co-written by Sabrina Sauve, Dave Sauve and Andrew Peebles. After releasing their 4th single, the duo has earned themselves a nomination for group or duo of the year at the 2023 CMAOntario Awards. Rosewood Ave has also been featured on numerous platforms including Sirius XM’s Top of the Country, Amazon Editorial Breakthrough Country, Country Rebel, and The Country Network. Rosewood Ave is set to perform “Good Ole Days” on the live stage at various highly anticipated festivals and concerts this summer in Canada. They will be opening for big names such as Dallas Smith, James Barker Band and The Reklaws. The husband and wife duo possesses an undeniable vocal chemistry on and off stage that is sure to captivate audiences for years to come.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being an artist is truly an incredible experience. It gives you the chance to express yourself and connect with people from all around the world who share your passion for music. It’s amazing to think that something you create can touch so many people’s lives. The ability to communicate with others through music is a true gift. Our journey started professionally in 2020 through livestreams, and since then, we have received countless positive messages and stories from fans about how our music has impacted their lives. It’s overwhelming, but also incredibly rewarding. This kind of feedback helps inspire us to keep creating and sharing our stories, even when we face obstacles. As long as people keep listening to our music and tuning into our live shows, we’ll continue to give it our all and share the gift of music with them.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Our Facebook fanbase has been a tremendous support throughout our musical journey. We’re so grateful to have such an amazing community of people from all around the world – over 23 thousand strong, and counting! Many of our Facebook followers have shown up to our live shows, streamed our music, and even helped us get recognized as a finalist for Country Network’s ‘Next Big Twang’. We truly feel like we’re all part of one big family, and we know that our fans have our backs. But it’s important to remember that this didn’t happen overnight. When the pandemic hit, we decided to try live streaming for the first time. To our surprise, we had hundreds of people tuning in. We continued to livestream once a week for a full year, and still do on special occasions. Our Facebook community got to know us on a deeper level, following our journey as a couple and even witnessing some of our behind-the-scenes moments – like when Dave bought his first pair of cowboy boots! We’re forever grateful for our Rosebud community. For creatives looking to grow their social media presence, we have one big piece of advice: always show up as your authentic self. People want to get to know you, and consistency is key. Make sure to post regularly, but always make your posts meaningful.
