Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sabrina Cabrera. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sabrina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
They both have taught me a lot. For example, they have taught me that even tho someone is talented, they must always be kind and humble. Also, they have always supported me both emotionally and physically, especially my mom. They have always been there for me to hear a “great job” and an “I’m so proud of you”, and to support me by getting me my needs as an artist.

Sabrina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, my name is Sabrina Cabrera. I’m 14 years old, almost 15. I’ve been drawing since I was a kid; my drawings back then were not as good as now, obviously, but I’ve always liked drawing, and if you give me something where I can draw and something to write with, I will draw anything– even the most random thing. I have been living in the United States for a year and a half, the only family I have here are my parents and one of my siblings. It’s been rough, I really miss my family and old friends, but I’ve learned to move on and keep going, focusing on my future.
Even tho I love drawing, I don’t see it as a professional career. But since I love making art, I’d love for people to get to know me.
I usually make more drawings using pen and pencils–I’m really happy and proud of myself for how much I have improved. I’d love to learn to paint and other techniques, of course. But I’m looking forwards to learning soon or in the future. Right now, I’m making drawings for people, I accept donations from $20 and up, and I love seeing people happy after they look at what they asked me to make, made with love and effort.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to draw whatever I want. I just need some time, paper or any surface where I can draw, and a pen or something to draw with. That’s all. And I can draw whatever I want or whatever someone asks me to draw. Also, another rewarding aspect is when I draw something for someone and seeing that genuine smile on their face. I absolutely love that.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I would love to earn some money doing art for people. I want to help my parents economically and support them, of course not as much as they have supported me because it is not possible, but I want to help them. I want to continue helping other people as well, with donations for example.
