Sabrena, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
As a travel agent it is my pleasure to assist my clients in creating the vacation of their dreams. I appreciate that my clients put their trust in my business and value my opinion. As a thank you for booking vacations with me I send gifts. The gift displays my appreciation for my clients, and I am also able to support another business owner with the products that I purchase. Gifts vary depending on type of vacation, how many people and what they have expressed interest in.

I am a wife (Al), mother of two great children (Marcel 26, Abria 19) & Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Traveling is such a thrill because it allows us to see and experience other cultures while escaping our everyday life.
Throughout my various travels, people often ask me how am I able to travel to so many places?
I tell people all the time, fun & efficient travel takes careful budgeting and planning.
After helping several friends and family members plan trips, I decided to become an independent travel agent. People often ask me is a travel agent necessary when there are so many travel search engines available. While search engines are helpful they do not provide the customer service that I provide as a travel agent. I have assisted my clients with cancelled flight, sat on the phone for hours and provide helpful travel tips and the ability to access various travel companies.
I absolutely love being a travel agent, I am able to assist people in planning their honeymoon, girl’s trips, family vacations, etc. These vacations create lifelong memories for people, and I am a part of that process. I am most proud of creating relationships with my clients whereas they trust me with their vacation planning time and time again.

Communication is so important in business and maintaining client relationships. To make a first-time client a repeat client checking in to see how their vacation is going, communicating when they return and sending cards during the holidays. It is very important to have your client think of your business when there is a need. I also send monthly emails and post on social media where I ask my clients to follow me so that they can stay in touch.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building a social media audience can very challenging, it takes time and patience. Patience is key because we live in a society where people are accustomed to instant gratification. To build an organic social media audience posting often is key and letting go of fear of criticism. I would often post various trips, pictures of trips but would not include pictures of myself. As I gained the confidence to post pictures of myself my audience grew because they were able to connect with me as a person not just the business. My advice is post often, be yourself, post yourself and let go of the fears of social media. I have met some of my best clients through social media.
