We recently connected with S Cassadera and have shared our conversation below.
S, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
My intention is to build a legacy of readers, both near and far, the young and the old, the great and the small. As a person, I hope people will remember me as a kind-hearted soul whose writing offered deep, thought-provoking insights. For my works of fiction, they will say her books were page-turners and hard to put down. I aim to be celebrated as an author whose fiction ignites profound views, educating, inspiring, and entertaining readers along the way.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi Readers,
I’m S. Cassadera and an author of contemporary romance, suspense, and Christian Fiction. I’ve written sixteen books so far. I am currently with Major Key Publishing, but my aspiration is to become a children’s author in the future. Like most authors, I started writing poetry and then ventured into writing my own stories after reading the legends such as ‘Brenda Jackson, Carl Weber, and Rochelle Alers’.
As an author, I do not write to fit in, but write what I know. I live by Toni Morrison’s quote, ‘If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it’. The most rewarding feeling is when new readers review my books and share how much they loved them. I must admit, I know my writing style isn’t for everyone and I’m okay with that. Other than that, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be soon releasing a psychological thriller series sometimes this fall… Yay, for me! Get your tablets ready to download!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Oh, the joy of thinking everyone will like what you write. Ha! Big disappointment there. Now, starting in the author industry, I felt overwhelmed when a reader outright stated they didn’t like my work. Of course, I became discouraged. It also hindered me from writing another book after that. Yes, the ‘w’ happened, writer’s block.
One day as I scrolled Facebook, I saw a fellow author comment, ‘My writing isn’t for everyone’s taste and I’m fine with that.” I nodded, understanding where she came from as I started learning the same. It’s okay not to be liked.
Moving forward is the key to living, learning, and succeeding.
It’s also an advice I give to new or aspiring writers, ‘Write what you like or know and the right target reader will find its way as your fan.’
