We were lucky to catch up with Ryshonda Harris recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ryshonda, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Has Covid resulted in any major changes to your business model?
During the beginning of the pandemic, I started to wonder what was going to happen next. Everything was closing and we were forced to stay indoors. I began to think about what I could do to ensure I would be able to provide for myself moving forward. My thought process behind starting Peach Beauties was simple to position myself outside of the employee work force to become an entrepreneur. In the beginning, my thought process did not involve a team however; it became evident very quickly that I had to tapped into a different business plan that was suitable for me during the Covid- Pandemic. It was not easy because we were at a standstill and everything was on hold. I began researching and reading on business ventures that were going through reorganizing/ rebuilding their business structures to enhance ability to adapt to society. In due time I realize if it’s not broken don’t fix it but you certainly may can tweak it. What I am trying to say is when you know your clients and have built a relationship that is understandable that goes with gaining loyal clientele who will forever support your brand.

Ryshonda, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Peach Beauties was discovered in 2016. The year I started my business was also the year I became a mother. Being a mother was the reason behind becoming an entrepreneur. I worked for a great company which was (Mac Cosmetics) who taught me everything there was to know about makeup from 2009 until 2016. My passion led me to starting my own business. In the beginning it was a little rocky, I’m sure any business owner can relate but I stayed consistent with advertising my work via social media to increase more bookings. Peach beauties not only offer makeup services but my clients can also purchase a pair of lash extensions that will be applied during the makeup session. As a business owner, I understand the needs of clients and provide an invaluable experience. I am detailed-oriented, solution-oriented, with a strong work ethic, and pride myself on delivering quality service to my clients. I’m a highly motivated professional with a proven track record in producing deliverable services. My future plans for the business is to one day offer a variety of makeup items such as skin care, eyes, lips, brushes and so much more that will be available in stores and digital for consumers to purchase to ensure the growth for the business.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been providing excellent communication skills and customer service. My advice for developing this skill is to be clear and precise with my communication and pay attention to the needs and feedback of my clients and team.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Of course, communication is the key and clarity is the answer to success in any business but also in life. As a 37 year old entrepreneur I’ve learned a thing or two about effective communication. It’s all about being able to connect with people/clients/ and other entrepreneurs on a personal level that takes practice yet achievable. Communication isn’t about speaking, it’s also about listening. You have to be able to understand the needs and concerns of your clients. In retrospect, taking the time to really listen and empathize with them because as humans we all experience tribes and tribulations and a listen ear sometimes is all we really need. Another key factor I use daily is being confident in myself with the abilities to deliver excellent services…This method will have clients coming back and spreading the word which equals free advertisement. I’m a true believer if you believe in what you are saying; others are more than likely to believe in the process as well, that means speaking it into existence, clearly, confidently and passionately about your ideas, goals and the services you provide. Lastly, it’s important to always be learning, growing and seeking out new experiences that challenge you and help you improve your communication skill while working in your field of expertise. I created a brand that represents my character and I will continue to improve my brand and take accountability in which Peach Beauties strive to exemplify each and every day.
