We were lucky to catch up with Ryn Grogan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ryn, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project the neon fox collective has done so far, is our Rocky horror picture show shadowcast at the historic elitch theatre. As a Denver local, it means alot to be able to perform in historic Denver venues while helping them grow like we did that night. We raised so much money for the theatre to continue thriving and the entire cast had a core memory built that night, performing for 500 people on Halloween weekend in a haunted theatre. Putting together a cast and entire production from nothing, was an amazing feeling because all the pieces just feel into place so perfectly by the end.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is ryn, my main project at the moment is the neon fox collective (@neon.fox.collective), Directing and producing shows for them. I’m also a drag clown by the name Ronnie Largo, I work with other performers and producers to perform in their shows for the past year. I also do some costume design work for theatre’s around colorado.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Respecting your team, their time commitments and their ideas has been extremity valuable for me to find performers and keep them wanting to work with the collective. I may be the director and producer but none of these shows are possible without the performers so I absolutely have to show respect to the people who put in work for my shows.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The joy my art, performance, and shows bring to the cast and the people watching it is what’s most rewarding for me.
