We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ryann Morris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ryann below.
Ryann, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I created Food Brilliance to empower people to take charge of their health through food. As a boutique chef, I develop custom recipes tailored to each client’s unique goals — from supporting digestion and energy to restoring balance in the body. What makes the experience truly special is that I meet clients right in their own kitchens. Together, we cook, talk about the healing benefits of ingredients, and explore how to combine foods for better digestion, clarity, and overall well-being.
Each session is both personal and educational. We create spice blends, sauces, chutneys, and nourishing meals — all grounded in the belief that food has incredible healing power when used with intention. Teaching in clients’ homes allows me to meet them where they are. They’re already comfortable in their own space, which makes the learning process more relaxed, natural, and lasting.
In just a few hours, we create more than meals — we create a new relationship with food. One rooted in awareness, empowerment, and genuine care.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For years, I struggled with my health — chronic infections, gut imbalance, and nervous system issues that left me feeling like a stranger in my own body. At one point, under my doctor’s orders, I was surviving on bone broth and protein powder because nothing I ate was being absorbed properly. I was desperate to understand what had gone wrong — and why my body wasn’t working the way it should.
That search for answers eventually led me to the kitchen — not as a chef chasing perfection, but as someone determined to heal. Through that process, I discovered Ayurveda and the profound truth that how we eat is just as important as what we eat. Food isn’t just fuel; it’s energy, communication, and care. When I began cooking with presence and intention, my body responded — I started to regain strength, clarity, and balance. That realization changed everything.
I founded Food Brilliance to help others experience that same transformation. My work is deeply personal: I create custom, health-focused recipes and spice blends tailored to each client’s health goals, then teach them how to cook those meals in their own kitchens. Together, we explore how spices, digestion, and energy work in harmony — how real food, when used intentionally, can bring the body back into rhythm.
What sets Food Brilliance apart is its blend of science, soul, and simplicity. I merge modern nutrition with Ayurvedic principles, helping people understand their bodies’ unique needs and how to meet them with food that’s alive, flavorful, and easy to digest. My sessions aren’t just about cooking — they’re about helping people reconnect to themselves through food.
I’m most proud of the moments when a client realizes they feel different — lighter, clearer, or simply more like themselves — just from changing how they see food and how they connect with it. That’s when I know it’s working.
At its heart, my work is about helping people rediscover food as a form of healing, self-care, and joy. I want others to understand that food isn’t something to control or fear, but something that can truly love you back — when you learn how to listen to it.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’m currently in the process of writing my first cookbook and working toward getting it published. What many people don’t realize is that publishing houses won’t even consider a proposal until you have a strong social media presence — in my case, over 100K followers.
When I started building my audience, I knew I wanted to do it authentically. I hired a social media manager who truly believed in my vision and encouraged me to stay true to myself rather than chase trends. I write all my own scripts — every word comes from me — and together we film, edit, and post with care and intention. Slowly, people began to notice.
I don’t buy followers. I want a real community — people who genuinely connect with my message and who might one day cook from my book. I spend time engaging with my audience, responding to comments several times a day. It takes over an hour daily, but that connection is the most rewarding part.
My YouTube subscribers, especially, are wonderful — they love to share their own health stories and food journeys with me. Over time, I’ve built not just an audience, but a community based on trust, curiosity, and shared growth.
For anyone starting out, my advice is simple: be real, be consistent, and care about the people who show up for you. When your message comes from the heart, it finds the right people — and that’s how your platform grows naturally.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After I started Food Brilliance and began gaining clients, my health unexpectedly took a turn. My neurological symptoms began to worsen due to a condition involving my vagus nerve, which had stopped communicating properly with the rest of my body. It affected everything — I couldn’t drive, stand for long periods, or even hold a knife.
I had to put my business on hold so I could heal. I went to a functional brain center in Orlando, Florida, where I worked intensively to “wake up” my vagus nerve through therapy and neurological training. The recovery process took nearly two years before I was able to hold a knife again and return to cooking.
That time taught me everything about patience, resilience, and the deep connection between food, the body, and the nervous system. When I finally returned to the kitchen, it wasn’t just as a chef — it was as someone who truly understood what it means to rebuild from the inside out.
