We recently connected with Ryan’Ashley Hawkins and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan’Ashley, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

I hope my legacy will be my brand and that I am remember as someone who never gave up and kept chasing my dreams. I hope the legacy I leave behind is also influential to the younger girls and that they see in themselves what they see in me and pursue anything they put their minds to and chase their dreams then make their dreams become their reality

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hey, my name is Ryan’Ashley and I am the owner of R&R COSMETIQUE. My business R&R cosmetique is a cosmetics brand where we make Lipgloss, chapstick, bathbombs, beard oils, body shimmers, and currently Working towards add more products to our brands and also extended service coming 2024. R&R stands for Ryan and Royce, which is my name as well as my sons name. I got into the cosmetic industry simply from being over buying lipgloss from the stores just to lose it seconds later after purchase lol. Opening a business I can honestly say has been the most challenging risk I’ve taken ever and I say that because boy has it been a challenge and wild ride. All of my products are made with love and from myself. All products are coconut oil based and gluten free. pretty soon once I finish school I will be adding skincare services such as waxes, facials, vagacials, possible eye brow tinting snd lash extensions but that will be more so towards 2024. I feel like what sets me apart from other lip gloss companies is that I am always looking for a way to expand I’m not limiting myself to just one thing. I am most proud of the different hands my lipglosses has touched such a celebrities and reality tv stars and makeup artist and then them sharing my products on their Instagram stories. One thing I want my supporters and R&R lovers to know is that we are here to stay and will be serving all their needs in every way and I cannot wait for them to see what we have coming within our company.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.

The way I got started with my brand was literally me being tired of buying lipgloss and having a conversation with a friend of mine who also is a business owner. We talked for hours exchanging business ideas and then it clicked for me to do lipgloss because I kept losing the ones I was buying. I knew nothing about how to make lipgloss did t know what I needed or where to stay so I googled and did research on how then just went with it. I don’t have a vendor I am my own supply and demand. I’ve learned so much since starting my business as far making products and even learning about marketing and different avenues within the industry.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

I wouldn’t say it’s anything I’ve read that influences me, it’s more so the people around me. They push me to keep going, to continue to thrive and be great. One of the people I can say I look up to god rest his soul is Nipsey Hussle, he’s very influential when it comes to business and how to move when it comes to ownership plus I just want these girls to have poppin a*s lips like me lol
