We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ryan Wieczorek. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ryan below.
Alright, Ryan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
I worked at a job prior that had a very boring and unenergetic workplace environment. I stayed there for about a year because they paid well but ultimately I started dreading coming to work and found myself counting down the time to leave. I ended up leaving and going back to bartending, just because the energy was high and the environment was fun. Once I started a company, I knew that keeping employee morale up and keeping a very energetic work environment would be something to focus on.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I kind of fell into the immersive cocktail experience. I use to produce beer and music festivals but we always had side projects we worked on during the down season. One of the events was a show called The Boozy Cauldron which was about magic wizardry drinks and being immersed in the universe of witches and wizards. Based on its popularity, we started developing more shows. One about ghost stories and macabre cocktails, one about pirates and rum, and another about the works of Edgar Allan Poe. We continue building more events based on what we are seeing people being excited about.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think everyone in the entertainment industry would agree that the most rewarding aspect of creating, is seeing the guest’s response to your vision coming to life. The more entertained and thralled they are with the show, the happier all of us our.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
All society has to do to support artists and creatives is go out there and watch them. Even if it’s something you never thought you would attend, just take a chance and go to it. There is a whole world out there waiting to be seen and most people don’t take the chance or they like to stay in their little bubble of what’s comfortable. There is so much out there that you would never know existed unless you take a chance and just go.
