Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ryan Saroli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk I took was launching Flygreen in 2023, entering a competitive private aviation market with a new, tech-driven model. We faced established competitors and an uncertain post-pandemic environment. Our idea was to offer flexibility with short-notice flights and no upfront fees, challenging the traditional private jet model. We built a tech platform that streamlined aircraft sourcing, allowing clients to book flights in just a few hours. Despite the uncertainty, we took the plunge, focusing on innovation and customer experience. The risk paid off: within a year, we expanded from two employees to 24 and became a recognized leader in the industry. Our commitment to flexibility and technology has made us a trusted choice for discerning travelers.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve always been fascinated by how technology can transform industries, and that passion led me to co-found Flygreen alongside Matt Keezer in 2023. Private aviation has long been a space that offers unparalleled convenience but at a significant environmental cost. With Flygreen, we saw an opportunity to blend advanced technology and sustainability, creating a private aviation experience that doesn’t compromise on service or conscience.
We provide private jet charters with unmatched flexibility—customer can be wheels up with as little as four hours’ notice, with no upfront fees or memberships required. What sets us apart is our focus on customer-centric technology and sustainability. Tools like JETPRO allow clients to evaluate flight options based on cost, convenience, and environmental impact. Beyond this, our dedication to planting trees and our Drive Green program show that sustainability isn’t just a business strategy; it’s a core value.
I’m most proud of how we’ve been able to align air travel with environmental responsibility, proving that it’s possible to prioritize both. For our clients, Flygreen isn’t just a service—it’s a statement that efficiency and sustainability can coexist.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The pandemic forced the entire travel industry to reevaluate its priorities. For us, it was a pivotal moment. Initially, we were focused solely on providing efficient travel experiences. However, as demand for private aviation surged, we saw a clear opportunity—and responsibility—to make these experiences more environmentally conscious.
That’s when we began developing JETPRO and expanding our sustainability initiatives. It was a shift that required significant investment in technology and a recalibration of our values, but it allowed us to stand out in a crowded market. The pivot taught us the importance of adapting not just to customer needs, but to global challenges, and it solidified our mission to lead the private aviation industry toward a greener future.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Flygreen’s reputation is built on innovation, reliability, and a customer-first approach. Our tech platform, JETPRO, allows us to quickly match clients with the right aircraft, setting us apart in a crowded market. We’ve earned trust by offering short-notice flights, ensuring reliability in an industry known for delays. Our “warrior-style” culture of getting things done and always putting the client first has reinforced our reputation for exceptional service. Additionally, our commitment to sustainability, including carbon matching and environmental initiatives, has resonated with our clients. Together, these elements have helped us stand out as a leader in private aviation, offering a seamless, personalized travel experience.
