We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ryan Powell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ryan below.
Ryan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, what do you think about family businesses? Would you want your children or other family members to one day join your business?
Eat Clean Phx is a 100% family owned and operated business. We have two amazing boys named Grayson and Grant that love being a part of it. They are too young to cook but every time they get a chance to come in and help dad they are so happy. For me, showing them the importance of hard work and giving back to the community is priceless. Every time we donate meals to first responders, food banks or essential workers I make sure to bring them with so they can see why it’s important.
Ryan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My wife Brittany and I decided to start Eat Clean Phx in 2018 after trying other local and national meal prep/delivery services. From what we had experienced, the quality just wasn’t there.
We decided to start Eat Clean Phx with one goal in mind. Provide Arizona with healthy, affordable, made from scratch meals that the whole family can enjoy feel good about eating. Our meals are organic, ready to eat, preservative free, low sodium and non gmo. We have customers all across the board from Professional athletes, people
In the fitness industry, parents that want their family to eat quality, balanced meals to people that want to lose weight. Not having to worry about what to make or buy from the grocery store and take the time to prepare frees up so much time for our customers.
I am not too familiar with other meal delivery services in Arizona but what I hear every week from our new customers is that the meals we prepare and the customer service we provide is what sets us apart from them. We’ve grown from a small to medium size company over the years but will always maintain that small business feel and attitude when it comes to our amazing customers at Eat Clean Phx!
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
When we started Eat Clean Phx I had a successful sports broadcasting career. I would cook for friends and family out of our home on the weekends and if I had to go out of town for work, I would simply take that week off. When we started, everything was done over text and email. Once our website, www.eatcleanphx. was created the growth really started. I remember laying in bed and getting a notification that the first Eat Clean Phx order was placed. That’s when I knew it was sink or swim.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is such an amazing way to stay connected with our current and potential customers. We are able to post updates on Eat Clean Phx as a business, new menu items as well as share what our amazing customers post when their delivery arrives. Brittany has managed our social media accounts from the beginning and does an amazing job and staying engaged with our followers. Her advice would be to post every day and be quick to respond when someone has a question! You also need to be creative and think outside the box when it comes to creating content. Keep people engaged!
