We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ryan McVey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My most meaningful project is one I’m currently working on called “Port City.”
It’s a tough and gritty modern day action drama about grief, loss, and self discovery amidst a brutal world of underground street fighting.
It’s very meaningful to me, being diagnosed and dealing with the horrors of PTSD. Our Port City story gives audiences a glimpse into what that world is like and helps raise awareness for our cause.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a US Marine and worked as a Fireman/Medic in Savannah, GA for over 10 years. I have an 8 year old son Myles, I’m an actor, stunt performer, producer, and set medic, and live with my fiancé in the Atlanta.
I got into the industry working as background/stand In, then began taking classes and working hard to improve my craft as an actor.
I’m most proud of my work ethic and determination, as it will one day show my son to never give up on living his dream when things get hard.
Also, of my amazing fiancé for all her success, and very thankful for all her support.
People should know Ryan McVey and Mayhem Films help bring captivating stories to life and make awesome movies.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to create the biggest platform possible to share the Good News.
No matter how hard times are and bad things get, there’s nothing you can’t do with God’s strength.
God’s plan is better than you can ever imagine, so work hard, stay humble, and great things will happen in your life.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
It’s most rewarding to me is to have to have the opportunity to bring amazing and captivating characters to life, and create moments on camera that will last forever.
I get to play make believe, just like I did as a kid..!!!
