We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ryan Henning. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ryan below.
Ryan, appreciate you joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I personally feel like everything happen at the right time. In 2019, I was making T shirts for groups and all I had was a heat press, a cutting machine and determination. I would work my 9-5 during the day and press 50 shirts until 3am. In 2020, the pandemic really turned everything upside down but it also is what changed it for me.
Work hours were being cut and at that point I realized for the first time that this job is not as guaranteed as I thought compared to going out on my own. I can say my jobs were my first mentors, they taught me
how businesses operate, procedures, and other things that are key in entrepreneurship. If I had tried to start earlier, I would have came from a position of complacency feeling like I didn’t have to make entrepreneurship work because I had a plan B. I wouldn’t change anything about my journey.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Currently the Reignland brand is about educating and motivating our community. We want everyone to have the tools and confidence to better their circumstances. One of the fundamental building blocks is financial literacy and credit education. I was once a person with bad credit, no answers, abs nowhere to turn to find them. Nobody around me discussed credit because our parents never used it.
I offer my experiences and education in the form of E-books, webinars, and Academies. There are service and products for all levels whether you are just starting your journey or are looking to leverage your resources to the next venture you have. I found through experience that people have an issue of implementing what they learn, so in our Reignland Credit Academy we have our students implementing weekly and not just the end.
The community that has been built is something I’m very proud of because they help one another, they are implementing action, and are flourishing. There is no one thing that is going to get you where you want to go, life is always about continuing to learn and grow with experience.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
my advice for managing a team is first to have the right people around you. My team understand they are all valued contributors to the overall mission. Nobody works for me, they work with me and I want to see them grow and start their own ventures as well. When hiring a team, you want different points of view but always from a position of positivity and problem solving. I don’t like to hear why we can’t do something, instead tell me how it can get done and build on that.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn being afraid of money. A lot of us, especially with our backgrounds, look at money as the end-all goal and it is not. Money is a tool that should make my life easier to live. My time is the most valuable commodity I have so I had to learn how to maximize my dollars based on how much time I desire to have to myself.
