We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ryan Copeland a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ryan, appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I’ve always had a niche for engagement with my clients that I was working with. My desire to push them and see them succeed was always a passion of mine. That passion drove me to want to groom and counsel artists even beyond production. In talking with my mom she drove the notion of “writing the vision and making it plain.” I always spoke about my idea but never put it down on paper. I live off of those type of principles because of my faith. Therefore, it was a no brainer to do what she said.
Fast forward, I wrote my vision down and prayed over it. That following weekend I linked up with some very cool individuals who had taken an interest in me and my passion. From there, we formed a bond and they helped me launch what I now have today as RC Muzik Group. The rest is history.

Ryan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been musician all my life. Grew up in church and still am in church. Been a compensated musician since I was 6. (In 2024 that will be 30 years for me being bless to get paid for what I do). I grew a liking to music and creating it around 2009. From there, I pushed myself to learn learn learn. From various genres of music to different techniques of production.
One thing I will always tell people around me is to REMAIN A STUDENT! I am constantly learning and gleaning from those I look up to in the industry.
Also, ASK THE QUESTIONS! You won’t know until you ask.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started building my audience on social media through my postings on YouTube. From there, it stretched to Instagram and Facebook. YouTube was the birth of Ryan Copeland to the social media world. I had been posting and doing amazing numbers before viral numbers was actually a thing lol.
So from there, I kept learning and taking tips from others on the social media platforms and continued to push myself into the field of production and engineering. My postings showcased my engineering skills, as well as my production skills which has drawn, and continues to draw many to my platform from around the world.
My best advice to those wanting to grow your platform is to POST! For those of us that move up in followers ORGANICALLY, we have a much tougher job to promote more than the average person. But it will ALL pay off. It’s all in your consistency.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The MOST effective strategy I’ve engaged in was me promoting myself consistently! Along with that, it drove my clientele to push and promote our works we completed. That free marketing is what accumulated a LOT of my gigs and new clients over time
