Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ryan Arnaiz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ryan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
Usually there’s 4 stages to get through in life, the final one being Legacy. Mimicking those around you, Experimenting on your own, Committing to what you find is your purpose, and leaving a Legacy once you find it. I found my purpose early on. I wanted to be in the health and fitness industry. My legacy would be to help others achieve their goals in life through health. Getting my clients the right supplements, training, eating habits, and overall lifestyle. Without working on all aspects of your health, you can’t get the rest of what you want in life. As the owner of all the Nutripro entities, I must set the example by having achieved what I’ve wanted in my own life with my health leading the way.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started working at NutriPro in high school. I went off on my own after that at 18, then took things over at NutriPro when i was 20. With Nutripro being in business over 35 years, we’re the oldest privately owned supplement store in the country that does it all. We’ve sold franchises, licensing agreements to use the name, home delivery van to drop off orders to clients, distribution, retail, curbside pick, ship globally, have our own brand, and sell our brand on our website. I’m the one that answers every question for my clients that comes in through our website, every social media outlet, company cell, and email. I studied exercise physiology and nutrition, so I’m proud to say that I personally consult all my clients that want to speak to me directly. We only close Christmas day, and open about 75 hours a week. We have products in every health and fitness category, and have access to thousands of products. I make sure we make it as easy as possible to get you the best products to fit your needs, and get them to you as easy as possible.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I thought I had to do everything myself. I would be at the store when I started 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, and closed only 5 days a year, for the first 10 years. It was affecting my health. I was thinking to myself “I’m in the health and fitness industry, and this isn’t gonna be good for my health in the long run”. I learned that you can’t do it all forever, and you need a good team around you.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
The word is “Consistency”. Your business better be open the hours, and days a year that you state. You need to back up what you state that you provide in your business. This isn’t something you do just when you get started, or when you need a boost in business. Clients need to see that they’re getting what they need from your business year after year, and they will tell others that need the same.
