Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rusudan Khizanishvili. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Rusudan, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I believe my art will be my legacy for the next generations. Any ways I want to believe in it, according recent events in the world this hope is the only thing we have :)

Rusudan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Rusudan Khizanishvili, I am a visual artist from Georgia the country,I live and work in Tbilisi, the capital of my tiny country which is my favorite place to live.
I suppose that Being proud is not the right word for the artists statement , I can go far away counting down the reasons I could be proud for but it is not my way. I live with and for art, I have a great responsibility for the gift I have and believe making art like linking the past ,present and the future generations is the most important aspect for each of us.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
As I mentioned above, I am from Georgia. This is a small country – a former member of the Soviet Union. It turned out that my student years coincided with a difficult period for the country after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It turned out that I just listened to my heart and chose the path of an artist – a completely unpromising path for that time. But I think fate chose us, and art chose me.I have entered the school of art when I was 9 years old , then the college of art for BA , after college I entered in Tbilisi State Academy of art for another BA and MA degrees, studying art in general for 14 years and never regretted it.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I am very careful about my reputation within the art industry, this is specific work and takes years and years of building reputation and it’s not just about the talent artists are gifted, I believe that artists must be very honest in all aspects, as in the jobs they do and in the relationships they build with the galleries who represent them. Being transparent helps us be fully focused on the creative process.
