We were lucky to catch up with Ruby Roberson Hall recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ruby, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I have worked on, is bringing awareness to my sister, Elisa Roberson’s, case. This, by far, has been the most challenging and the most rewarding at the same time. There are so many ups and downs and some days are hard. I know that for the many doors that are shut in our faces, one door opens. There is immense power in using your voice to bring awareness to a loved one’s case. No one is going to fight harder than the family. If there is going to be any change or resolution to a cold case, it has to be the family who does it. I have found that in doing this, there are so many other people fighting for justice for their loved ones. The support from others fighting the same cause has given me so much more strength to keep fighting for Elisa. I hope that I might encourage and inspire the next person or family to put their armor on and fight for justice.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am no one big or special. There was a need and I stepped up. I became very frustrated with the way law enforcement was handling my sister’s disappearance case or rather how they were NOT handling it. I realized that if someone was going to fight for answers and justice, it had to be us, the family. There was no choice in the matter. My sister, Elisa, is what drives this fight. There are so many other families fighting for justice and they are an example to me. There were so many podcasters and news outlets willing to tell Elisa’s story but it is only just a fraction. We had to take matters into our own hands. We would have to be the ones to tell our story. People want to know our story, we just have to tell it. I am so grateful for all the followers and supporters who have helped in this fight. We would not have gotten this far without them.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I found that when families support each other in bringing awareness to each of our loved one’s case, it is very empowering. There is strength in numbers. When you are loud, people start to listen. When people have an army supporting their cause, it gives them the strength to keep fighting. We become an example to others and pave the way for others starting the fight.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal and mission has always to bring more awareness to my sister, Elisa Roberson’s, case and to bring her home. That goal keeps me focused. In bringing awareness to my sister’s case, I want to help others as well. When families of the missing and murdered join together, you have an army of support behind you. That is what we families need. There are families who have had no movement in their loved one’s cold case for years and have given up. No family should ever have to navigate this alone. I hope that with all the struggles and hardships my family has endured, that it will help to pave the way for others. This support gives families the strength and hope they need to keep fighting and brings us all closer to finding answers for our loved one.
