Ruben, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

From a young age, my passion for music set me on a path that eventually led to the art of DJing. Reflecting on my journey, I realize that if I had the knowledge and experience I possess now, I would have embarked on this adventure much earlier. I would have eagerly sought out DJ groups and communities to network with, allowing me to develop my skills and talents without the burden of shame. In the realm of DJing, the most vital skills are the ability to connect deeply with an audience and to entertain them through a seamless blend of music and engaging microphone techniques. These skills not only define my craft but also underpin the success of my business. However, the road wasn’t without its challenges. One of the most significant obstacles I faced was the initial embarrassment and hesitation to connect with fellow DJs. This fear stemmed from the concern that my early attempts at mixing would reveal my shortcomings. Overcoming this barrier was crucial, as it opened the door to invaluable learning experiences and collaborations that have shaped me into the DJ I am today.

Ruben, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I embarked on my journey in the DJ business through referrals, leveraging my background as a music producer and musician. Known among family, friends, and clients as the “music guy,” it wasn’t long before they began requesting my services to DJ their parties. Through these experiences, I discovered a greater passion for DJing than producing or performing as a musician. With a natural affinity for engaging with crowds and commanding the microphone, I seamlessly transitioned into the role of a DJ and Master of Ceremonies for various events. My energetic presence and ability to connect with audiences made it second nature for me to thrive in this new capacity. I frequently receive compliments on my skills, with many noting how I successfully transform what they anticipated to be ordinary evenings into vibrant celebrations filled with dancing and excitement.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role as a DJ and Master of Ceremonies is the opportunity to craft an extraordinary entertainment experience for couples on one of the most monumental days of their lives. As a Wedding Professional, I take immense pride in contributing to the magic and joy of their special day.

My distinct energy, coupled with my innate ability to captivate and engage an audience, has significantly contributed to building a reputable and influential presence within my market sector. This dynamic combination has enabled me to consistently connect with diverse groups, leaving a lasting impression and fostering a strong sense of trust and admiration among peers and clients alike.
