We recently connected with Roxy Joy and have shared our conversation below.
Roxy , appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
When I first got accepted into the Amazon Influencer program, I honestly didn’t know what I was doing. I found myself mimicking other influencers without much direction. Looking back, if I had wanted to speed up my learning process, I would have definitely sought out a mentor or someone experienced in the space right from the beginning. Now, I have a few people like that in my life, and their guidance has been incredibly valuable. If I were to start over as a creator, seeking out those knowledgeable individuals for support and advice from the start would be my top priority.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I spent many years working in the hospitality industry, primarily in hotels and restaurants, where I developed strong communication and people skills. Recently, I decided to make a significant change by transitioning to working remotely full-time. This shift was driven by my desire to spend more quality time with my family while pursuing something that truly resonated with me.
Creativity has always been a big part of who I am. Growing up, I was deeply involved in dance, music, theater, arts, and crafts. When I first stumbled upon UGC (User-Generated Content), I had no idea what it was. But as I explored it further, I realized it was a form of content creation—a perfect outlet for my creativity. That realization led me to dive deeper into creating videos, taking photos, and sharing my genuine love for products and brands.
From there, I began branching out into influencer work, expanding to platforms like TikTok, where I enjoy connecting with audiences and showcasing products I’m passionate about. It’s been a slow and steady journey into the creator world, but one that feels authentic to me. My work allows me to channel my creativity while also earning extra income—a win-win!
What sets me apart is my ability to bring an authentic and artistic approach to everything I create. Whether it’s a product review, a video, or a photo, I

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
If I’m being honest, one of the most rewarding aspects of being a creative is the instant gratification that comes from seeing likes, follows, and engaging with people online. It’s such a great feeling to connect with others and know that what I’ve created resonates with them. On top of that, I love that I can monetize this passion. What started as a hobby has turned into something that not only brings me joy but also allows me to meet new people and earn a little extra along the way. It’s the perfect mix of fun, creativity, and opportunity!

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
During this process, I became friends with “a girl I met online”. That’s funny is that sounds… I met a girl named Megan who is a self taught pro at creating Content, and she now coaches others like me on all the different platforms. She really help me get started and I probably would’ve gotten started sooner Had we crossed paths sooner.
