We were lucky to catch up with Roxana Hernandez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Roxana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
I do feel like my work is misunderstood because I think a lot of people think being a content creator is vain. To me, content creation is more than just posting selfies , outfits, and what I did that day. To me being a content creation is a creative outlet for me. Its also a way for me to express myself and share my interests.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have worked many jobs before. One that I actually loved was when I worked as a celebrity fashion wardrobe stylist assistant. Now I am a content creator, social media consultant, and model. As a content creator some of the services I offer are creating content for brands. The work can that is posted on my feed is an advertisement and the content posted on the brands feed is UGC ; User Generated Content. The services I offer as a social media consultant are 1:1 coaching calls , I offer social media account audits and I am working on creating an e course for purchase. On these 1 on 1 calls I answer any questions you have on landing brand deals as well as questions with how to receive PR from well known brands , I also help you with questions you may have on how to get invited to brand events. I also provide free content on my tiktok.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I think non creatives will struggle to understand that most times people are scared to post their work or share their work with the world because they are afraid that they will get judged or its not good enough and most times creators get anxiety when it comes to sharing their work with their world. Some insight I would like to give to non creatives is to be more kind and supportive to creators because all in all we are all going through something and most times this is are creative outlet. Thank God I personally no longer have anxiety or fear of being judged , I post what I like.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me the most rewarding aspect as a creative is getting to show people my interest and my “art”. It’s also rewarding to teach people how to get brand deals, PR, invited to content creator events because back then I used to only see predominantly white creatives receiving these opportunities but hardly ever Mexican creatives. It’s also rewarding when I post things about my journey and I receive dms of people telling me I have inspired them to start posting even though they were scared.
