Hi Roxana , thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The Add-Ons Box is not just an accessory box, our mission is to connect, empower and motivate every woman who receives our box. Accessories are part of our brand, but our identity and value will always have as a mission, to lead each BoxyGirl, as we affectionately call our clients, to become their best version.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The Add-Ons Box our brand stands out from the rest by being innovative, creative and purposeful. When I started this business path I never imagined achieving what my eyes are seeing today. It is not only about creating a need in our customers with our product, but about adding value to it. The Add-Ons Box is not just a monthly box of women’s accessories, it is a company created to motivate and inspire other women or mothers like me to fight for their dreams and goals. When I decided to give up on my regular hourly job to take care of my daughters full time, at some point I felt without direction, lost. When I managed to surround myself with people who saw potential in me, I decided to launch myself and start the adventure of creating a brand from scratch. Today The ADD-ONS BOX has a beautiful community of clients and women who share our same vision and mission. I am happy to be able to represent our Hispanic and Latino community here in Central Florida.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I started my brand The Add-Ons Box depended 100% on social networks since we did not have an online store. To always keep me connected with my followers or potential customers, the key was to be consistent and humanize my brand. When I began to tell my story and how our brand was created, many people identified it. That’s how I positioned myself on the different platforms. Creating a solid social media community will not always depend on your followers or likes. It goes further, it is to create a unique connection with your followers and that the content gives them value. Being able to use social networks today paves the way for exposure, but my greatest advice is that you always maintain your business integrity and the values that always represent you as a priority.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When I started I didn’t have the capital. I didn’t want to ask my husband for help to start because he had always helped me and supported me in everything, but this achievement was more personal. I wanted to start my own business to achieve financial independence. Many women who are mothers like me give up their job or career to be able to take care of their children and that is not bad, but many times we get lost. I faithfully believe that we can fulfill all our roles perfectly and I only thought about the future of our daughters. So I used the only credit card I had and from there I made my first investment. It was the best $4,000 invested. When you have faith and trust in God the doors will open. Take the risk and here we are 3 years later with a growing and successful company.
