Roula , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
Facials: One of my clients that brings tears to my eyes when she talks about how happy she is every morning when she doesn’t need to cover her face with layers of foundation, is what I will share with you. I wanted to help her so bad because I knew I could, so I gave her a special deal so it’s affordable and she can see the results without stressing over the financial part of it. I was able to help her from hiding her beautiful skin underneath the acne problem she had all her life. This beautiful client of mine came in a couple of years ago in search of another hope to help with her sever acne. Her commitment and consistency to coming in monthly got her to was what she called “a dream come true.” I was able to perform an acne treatment and made sure she was using the right products I recommended, and with that, she’s been “foundation free” for months. She said after a few months, her family would ask why she’s wearing foundation before bed, but it was actually her bare beautiful skin. Her reviews on social media, yelp and google are always 5 starts, or as she says, she could give me a 10 lol.
PMU: Another beautiful client of mine dreaded every morning having to draw her brows on. Her texts about how happy she is and how easy and faster her morning preps are brings joy to my heart. We simply filled in gaps, gave her hair strokes and shaded them to give her a natural look. The smile and happiness I saw after we micro bladed and micro shaded her brows was priceless.
So many beautiful clients leave me great reviews and this is the reward I look for, them coming back and referring their family and friends.

Roula , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
When it comes to skin care and permanent make up, people tend to think it’s an unnecessary luxury. In fact, self care is important to a healthy well being and confidence. At LANA BEAUTY BAR, Face and brows is our focus. I don’t just want clients to come in to relax, yet I want them to come in and experience a change. When it comes to facials, I offer multiple options covering Aging, Pigmented, Teen, Acne problems or even just maintenance. Facials can be such as customized as skin needs, DMK Skin Revisions, Hydrofacials, Microdermabrasion, Organic, Dermaplaning, Peels, Oxygen Dome….etc. One thing you will know about me, especially when you see my posts and reels, is that I don’t name facials other than what they really are. For example, THE GLOW facial, Illuminating facial, Hollywood facial….so on. These can be any of the above facials, and I don’t like clients to book something they don’t know about. My social media always have before and afters, with visible results, and that’s where I get interested clients asking more about that specific treatment. I was told once, “you’re never gonna make money working the way you do.” Well, it’s because I like to see results, I like to offer the best that I can to see that change. No, I don’t over sell if the client doesn’t need it, in fact, sometimes clients ask for a treatment that’s more expensive that the one their skin really needs, and we go with what I recommend.
I am always looking for new ideas, new things that can help clients and be budget friendly. So last year, I flew overseas and brought back a material to make my own facial exfoliating mitts, and I sure did. Made here in the US, they are small facial mitts that exfoliates without any products, just water. Sold now on Amazon and on my website www.lanabeautybar.com under shop LANA BEAUTY. This mitt is under $25 and lasts 12 months.
As for my PMU clients, BROWZ_lbb is my IG, I am humbled to say that my brow transformations have been great and when clients refer their friends and family is a sign that it’s a success. Microblading is an artistic way to draw hair strokes to match the shape of the natural brows. Then comes microshading, to fill in the gaps with pigment matching the natural hair color.
Educating clients is KEY, whether it’s a facial or a Brow treatment, I like to explain what I am doing, how it’s done and what to expect. Clients are always appreciative of the information they leave with, that way when they are referring that friend, they know what to say.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I hope my story empowers women, moms and business owners that go through any rough roads in life. In May of 2022, I lost my father unexpectedly, he was a working dentist, my best friend, my mountain that gave me all the strength in life. Took my mom in to live with my family, helped her through it all, selling my dad’s practice, making sure my kids understand what happened and why. I had to stay strong for all of them. Little did I know that life was gonna throw something else my way. 19 weeks after, in September of 2022, I lost my husband of 23 years unexpectedly as well, he was 44. This is when I needed to stand stronger than ever. I put my business on hold, now taking care of my husband’s business, a car dealership, which has nothing to do with my career, yet I did. As time progresses till today, I am juggling so much but never gave up on what I love to do. My business needed me and I needed it to survive. Point is, no matter what we go through, never give up, never fall down or let that get to you. My kids deserve a mom now that they can depend on and brag about later in life.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy to grow my clientele is honesty, never oversell, and educating clients on what they are paying for. Referrals are key in my business. When a client asks to book the next appointment right as they finish, that means it was done right. Rewarding clients with points for their dollars spent, giving samples of products recommended before they commit to buying it, letting them know what I will using as I perform the treatment, and of course never selling something that they don’t need just to make the extra bulks. All that grows my client base. Social media has been great, it’s one if the best ways to drive clients to my social media platforms. Clients need to see before and after, read reviews and that’s what builds that trust.
