We were lucky to catch up with Rotem Bar Lev recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rotem , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission as a personal stylist and color analysis expert is deeply rooted in the belief that true self-love starts with how we see ourselves. I am passionate about helping men and women embrace their unique beauty, transforming the way they perceive their reflection in the mirror. When a client learn to love what they see, , it creates a deep sense of confidence and self-acceptance.
We are all constantly evolving as people, and just like we grow in different areas of our lives, our style should also reflect those changes. I often notice that clients’ current styles don’t match their personalities, which can affect their confidence. My goal is to help individuals embrace their personal growth and update their style to truly represent who they are.
In today’s busy world, it’s easy to forget to take care of ourselves, especially as we juggle many responsibilities. By focusing on personal style and color, I encourage clients to prioritize their needs and express their identities.
Through this process, I empower them to face life’s challenges with positivity and confidence. Ultimately, my mission is to inspire self-love that starts with how we present ourselves on the outside and transforms how we feel on the inside.

Rotem , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From a young age, I knew fashion was my path. Growing up in Israel, my passion for style only grew stronger, even as I served four years in the military. Afterward, I was fortunate to move to the United States and chase my dreams in the heart of it all: New York City. Landing a job at Saks Fifth Avenue was a turning point. As a stylist and sales associate, I saw firsthand how the right clothing can profoundly impact someone’s confidence. Through years of working with clients, I learned that every body—no matter the shape, size, or color—has unique strengths, and my role is to help clients see their own beauty. My goal is to guide them in discovering what truly enhances their look, bringing out their confidence and helping them love the person they see in the mirror. I believe everyone has the potential to become the person they admire, and I’m here to help them realize it.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Growing up, the path to success felt predetermined: you graduate, serve in the military, take a year to travel, return to school for a degree, then settle down, marry, and start a family. Following that script was supposed to mean success. After moving to the U.S., I initially planned to go back to Israel, study fashion design, and stick to that traditional path. But being here changed my perspective—I met so many inspiring people who had created their own unique paths to success. It made me realize that there isn’t one “right” way to be successful. I understood that I could create my own path, shaped by my own dreams and goals.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
When I arrived in the U.S. and started looking for a job, I kept an open mind, though I knew I wanted to be in fashion. I’ll never forget the day I walked into Saks Fifth Avenue. Stepping onto the main floor, I was surrounded by designer brands I had only dreamed about. I didn’t know much about the store or its significance, but I was inspired. I asked a sales associate (who I am truly thankful for till today) if they were hiring. I had no idea how things worked, but they kindly directed me to HR on the 10th floor. I was amazed by the size of the store—floor after floor filled with fashion and iconic names. When I reached HR, they told me I was in luck; they were holding an open hiring day the next morning and encouraged me to come with my resume. I did just that, and during the interview, I explained how my experience as a criminal investigator in the military taught me valuable people skills, which I believed would make me a strong salesperson. The interviewer loved my enthusiasm and hired me on the spot.
