Rosy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?

Astrology and Human Design Apps are huge right now, and with that comes a huge influx of so-called “readers” who simply enter a client’s information into an app and reword the algorithmic material in a quick, shallow, and often unhelpful reading.

A person is so much more than an algorithm of information.

The astrology and human design charts that connect to our energy are unique for each person and there is no AI or technology that can ever fully see the expansiveness of a person. It takes a real human to read for a real human. Period. I often have clients coming to me who say they already know that this year is holding them back because The Pattern or Costar app told them so and it is difficult to not shake my head in frustration. Nothing in the stars has the power to hold you back without your consent (-Eleanor Roosevelt, or something like that). Free will exists. We all have a choice in how we show up, how we work with (or against) the cosmos, and who we are becoming in this life. My job is to help you see the unfiltered strength available to you and to show you how to fully own your power to go after whatever it is that you want in this life. Apps can’t see YOU in all of your beautiful, powerful, expansive potential. A real astrologer can.

Rosy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m Rosy! I call myself “Your Cosmic BFF” because I want to be your go-to girl for all this cosmic. I love breaking down cosmic transits and energies in a way that’s practical, interesting, and easy-to-understand. I believe that we are all uniquely and powerfully created by God and astrology and Human Design are just ways to fully embrace the power within us in a way that showcases our true strengths. I believe that when people are confidently walking their own path and compassionately witnessing other people walking theirs, we can create a world of joy, peace, and freedom.

I wasn’t always into this woo-woo stuff. Just five years ago, I was a professional modern dancer at a theater in Phoenix, AZ. I spent my time rehearsing and performing sometimes 50+ hours a week. As a Sagittarius, I love a challenge and new information and when a friend gifted me The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need for my birthday one year, I was very skeptical, but curious enough to dive in. I read it cover to cover multiple times and discovered that my intuition naturally kicked in when I looked at a chart and I was able to speak in a way that helped my friends and family feel heard, motivated, and guided towards their next steps in life. When 2020 hit and theaters shut down, I needed a new job. I started Your Cosmic BFF that year and stepped away from the dance world. I became a mother to two boys (Ages 1 and 3) and began to prioritize time at home. Building my business in a virtual space in 2020 allowed me to settle into motherhood while still growing my new project. Now, 4 years in, I offer virtual and in-person classes, readings, guidance, and intensive programs. I absolutely love what I’ve created, but I’m not done.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I offer written readings. This allows my clients to revisit their reading again and again rather than having to take notes during a call or listen to a video again and again. I’ve always taken pride in making my work easy-to-understand and visually interesting because I think that the more drawn in to your reading you are, the more likely you are to read it with an open mind. Everything I write is 100% written for you. I don’t use pre-written material. Ever. I believe that people are unique and you deserve a reading that addresses your unique roadblocks and strengths.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

When I started my business, I called it Rosy Mack Astrology. BORING. After connecting with my clients and really discovering the way I wanted to show up as a business owner, I decided to change my entire brand about a year after starting my business. This is when I changed my name to Your Cosmic BFF. With the name change came a change in the way I wrote emails, the way I designed social media posts, the way I designed written readings, and the way I created powerpoints for my classes. I let myself become more silly. I gave myself the freedom to show up “unprofessionally” and say things the way I wanted to say them, not just the way I thought they “should” be said. I gave up on finishing sentences perfectly and started throwing silly GIFs into things to demonstrate my thoughts. I let myself be more vulnerable and share personal stories that help me relate with my clients. Basically, I let myself write the way I really talk and show up as ME, not just as Rosy Mack, The Professional Astrologer.
