We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rossmond Chark. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rossmond below.
Rossmond, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
At first, I just went for it— No practice, no real preparation routine; I just winged it, sort of like my liner!
And it worked for awhile but I found that rarely was I happy with the outcome when it came to both makeup & modeling, even while my clients or photographer’s were.
I think the excitement and impulsiveness to wanna immediately be that vision we creatives see in our heads, ultimately slowed me down.
I think practice is most essential, and not only practicing but consistently. And seeking different styles.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Of course!
I’m Rossmond Chark— I’ve been modeling and doing makeup for about 2 years now.
I got into modeling by dancing in a fashion show here in the Dfw and being asked to participate as a model as well.
As for makeup, I put eyeliner on at about 13 and been in love with everything about it since. It just seems the older I get, the more passionate I feel towards the craft.
I’m most proud of the excitement I and those I work with get to share. Whether it’s modeling or makeup, I’m there to be a tool for creating something beautiful and I really love and appreciate that.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is the outcome.
There’s so much patience, effort and time that goes into modeling and artistry.
When I do makeup and color match a clients foundation perfectly on the first mix, I may or may not think I’m a scientist… It’s so rewarding seeing a look come together as well as seeing the clients reaction.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
An even work/life balance. I’m currently working 6 days a week, so in the near future, I’m able to have more time to be available for what I’m truly passionate about. And eventually, be able to live happily and comfortably doing what I love.
