We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rosmery Ramirez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rosmery below.
Rosmery, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
One of the best ways I’ve shown appreciation to a body sculpting client was by surprising them with a complimentary foot spa service after their session. Since body sculpting can leave clients feeling a bit sore, I added a soothing foot spa with both warm and cool water to enhance circulation and relaxation. This included an exfoliating treatment to leave their feet feeling smooth and refreshed.
The client was overwhelmed with joy. They mentioned it made them feel truly pampered and valued, as I went beyond just delivering the service they had expected. It was a small gesture, but it elevated their overall experience. By addressing both body sculpting and relaxation, I believe it showed that I care about my clients’ well-being and comfort, helping them leave feeling rejuvenated from head to toe. This not only boosted the client’s loyalty but also helped foster a strong personal connection, making them feel genuinely cared for.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
When I was younger, I always had this curiosity about how people in the beauty industry, like nail technicians, made $80 an hour. I would wonder, *How did they get there?* This thought stuck with me, even as I pursued a more traditional path, completing my Associate’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice & Government.
After graduation, I started my first job in my field while raising a newborn. It was a challenging time—balancing a career and motherhood made me realize that, as much as I wanted to make a difference in my community, the environment was overwhelming. I also noticed how quickly time was passing, and I didn’t want to miss out on precious moments with my baby.
This realization sparked my curiosity about the beauty industry again, but this time with a more serious intent. I started researching how to enter the industry without the need for more formal education, and I came across body sculpting. It was a field that intrigued me, not only because of its income potential but also because of the impact it could have on clients’ confidence and well-being.
I took multiple courses to get certified in body sculpting, and I dove deep into research, investigating everything from potential earnings to risks. Slowly but surely, I began to invest in my business, starting with mobile appointments on weekends while still working my government job during the week. It was exhausting, but I knew my hard work would pay off eventually.
Today, my business, *Beauty By Rose*, focuses on body sculpting, teeth whitening, lymphatic drainage, and more. I’m double-certified in body sculpting and a professional technician in non-invasive teeth whitening, brow lamination, and dental gems. I take pride in helping clients feel their best, whether it’s through weight loss treatments or organic hair care. What sets me apart is my holistic approach to beauty and empowerment—I’m not just providing a service; I’m helping my clients achieve their goals, feel confident, and improve their quality of life.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to teach and empower others. I love helping women start their own businesses in the beauty industry without having to return to school. I offer classes and mentorship, giving them the tools to transform their lives just like I transformed mine. My goal is to not only offer services but also to create a ripple effect of empowerment within my community.
For potential clients or followers, I want you to know that my work is rooted in passion and dedication. I care deeply about the people I work with and am constantly striving to learn and grow, ensuring that I offer the best service possible. Whether you’re looking to enhance your appearance or learn how to start your own beauty business, I’m here to support and guide you on your journey. I take a deep moment to emphasize the importance of overall health because, as I always say, *health is wealth*. In my practice, I go beyond offering aesthetic services like body sculpting and teeth whitening— I focus on holistic well-being. I often remind my clients that the changes we make externally are most impactful when they’re paired with internal transformation. This includes eating right, cutting down on sugars and carbs, and making sustainable lifestyle changes that promote long-term health and confidence.
My journey into the beauty industry wasn’t just about changing careers; it was about shifting my passion for helping others in more serious situations into a different kind of empowerment. With my background in Criminal Justice & Government, I always had a desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Now, I’ve taken that knowledge and investigative approach and applied it to a new population—those seeking to feel better, accomplished, and renewed in their bodies.
What I’ve found is that when you help someone feel good physically, it impacts them mentally and emotionally as well. It’s an accomplishment when my clients not only see results but also start making healthier choices for themselves. I take great pride in being a part of that journey, not just as a service provider, but as a partner in their transformation. My work is about more than just aesthetics—it’s about empowering people to feel good from the inside out, and helping them achieve the balance that leads to a healthier, more fulfilled life.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One story that truly illustrates my resilience happened when I was just starting out in the beauty industry. I was still working my full-time government job while running my mobile body sculpting business on the weekends. At that time, I had a newborn baby at home, and the balance between work, motherhood, and launching a new business was incredibly challenging.
There was one particular weekend where I had back-to-back appointments scheduled. I was running on just a few hours of sleep because my baby had been up all night. To make things more stressful, the equipment I needed for a body sculpting session malfunctioned right before a major appointment. I remember sitting in my car, exhausted, wondering how I was going to get through it all.
But in that moment, I realized something: I had come too far to let a setback stop me. I was determined to make this business work, not just for myself, but for my family and my future. So, I quickly adjusted, rearranged my schedule, and reached out to a trusted colleague to borrow some equipment. I made it to my appointment on time and completed the session with my usual high standards. The client was happy and had no idea what was going on behind the scenes.
That day, I learned that resilience isn’t just about pushing through challenges—it’s about adapting, problem-solving, and staying focused on the bigger picture. Despite the exhaustion, the setbacks, and the doubts, I kept going because I believed in my vision. I knew that the effort I was putting in would eventually pay off, and it has. Looking back, that experience taught me how to persevere under pressure and never give up on my goals, no matter how difficult things may seem.
Resilience has been the cornerstone of my journey, whether it was balancing a newborn while finishing my degree or navigating the challenges of starting a business from scratch. It’s that same resilience I bring to every aspect of my work, and it’s what continues to drive me forward in helping others transform their lives..
Furthermore, I handle all aspects of my business myself. From designing the brand’s look and feel to marketing, scheduling, managing social media, and even the behind-the-scenes tasks like administration, course preparation, and cleaning—I do it all. I also create and manage both online and in-person courses, ensuring that everything I teach is well-researched and up-to-date. On top of that, I take care of inventory and every other small detail that keeps the business running smoothly.
It’s a lot of hard work, and there are definitely moments where it can feel overwhelming. But every time I see the happiness on my clients’ faces or the transformation in their confidence, it all becomes worth it. Knowing that I’m directly impacting someone’s life—whether through body sculpting, teeth whitening, or teaching them how to start their own business—is what drives me. It reminds me that every effort I put in contributes to a bigger purpose: helping people feel better, empowered, and capable of achieving their own success.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Funding my business was a journey that required careful planning and resourcefulness. When I first decided to transition into the beauty industry, I was still working a full-time government job, and I knew I couldn’t rely on outside funding or loans to get started. So, I took a very strategic approach.
I began by researching everything I needed to get started—equipment, certifications, marketing, and basic business tools—and created a budget. With that in mind, I started saving from my government job, setting aside a portion of each paycheck specifically for my business. It wasn’t easy, especially with a newborn at home, but I knew it was necessary to make my dream a reality.
At the same time, I worked on mobile appointments during the weekends, offering body sculpting services to clients. I started with minimal equipment, just enough to get by, and gradually reinvested the money I earned from those sessions back into the business. Every dollar I made went toward upgrading equipment, building out my marketing strategy, and covering necessary business expenses.
There were moments where it felt like progress was slow, but I stayed committed to the process. I didn’t rush or take unnecessary risks, instead focusing on growing sustainably. By the time I was ready to officially open *Beauty By Rose* and offer a full suite of services, I had built up enough capital through a combination of my savings and the money I earned from mobile appointments.
One of the key lessons I learned was that building a business doesn’t happen overnight, but through patience, hard work, and smart financial decisions, it’s absolutely possible. Every sacrifice and late-night session was worth it, and I’m proud to say that I started my business without relying on loans or outside investors. That independence allowed me to scale at my own pace and maintain full control over my vision for the business.
