Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Roslyn Robinson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Roslyn, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope to build a legacy of helping other therapists entering the industry navigate and transform the massage profession. I hope people will say she was generous, caring, and passionate. I hope to be remembered for my love of helping others through the benefits of massage.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became a massage therapist because friends urged me to do so. So I did. After graduating from school, I worked in a spa for a year. Toward the end of that year, I opened my mobile massage business. Tranquility Mobile Massage. We do mobile massages and provide pain management products. I help a lot of my clients with pain management and relaxation. I think what sets me apart is that I have been able to expand the business with a pain management product line. These products can also be customized to client preferences. Having the ability to have my own business, I employ top-notch therapists. Product line is my pride and joy. I take customer service and high-grade product ingredients with the company very seriously, but I keep the cost to consumers low. I feel that people should have high-grade pain management products, but they should not have to go broke having them.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I started my business, I was still at a spa. I was only doing my business part-time. People would call me, wanting massage services on the same day. Unfortunately, I was at work at the spa during those times. I hated missing out on those opportunities. So, I prayed about what to do. The spa was my income, and I was afraid of completely leaving. So, I went part-time. Calls continued while I was at work. It was clear what I had to do, I put in my 2-week notice, and once I left the spa. The calls slowed down and eventually stopped. I prayed some more; a lot more. I stayed steadfast. It was hard for the first year. I had some clients, but not enough to keep me afloat. My prayers were answered. Through other therapists. I heard about contract work. So I did that, and eventually my clientele increased. If I had given up and gone back to the spa. I would not be where I am today. Time, patience, and prayer.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
My best source is word of mouth (80%). I also post on social media and receive work from there.
