We were lucky to catch up with Rosirma Corney recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rosirma, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
I learned to let go of expectations. I come from a background of strong-minded, straight to the parents. They believe in do your task and do it well. Then I realized that others i.e co-workers do not have that same mindset. I had a hard time with co-workers because they did not perform their duties under their role. Once I came to the point where I had to accept people for where they are, it helped me to enjoy the workplace and perform better. As long as I was doing my part, that was enough. Once I did, the co-workers and I became friendly because I let go of the expectations I placed upon them.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a Mindset Coach. Through a life disappointment, I saw my thoughts of myself deteriorate and it led me to a dark path. Once I got out, it became my mission to help others prevent entering the dark hole or to guide them out healthily. I work on the mindset to shift the perspective the situation is being seen as. I created coaching services, guided prompt journals, and a self-help book about my journey. My approach is I have been where you are, let’s journey together out of this. You are not alone. Some coaches/therapists practice from books, What sets me apart is that I come from real-life experience and show how some things are learned from experiences, not book formulas. I am proud that I am able to still heal, educate, and encourage others through books and podcasts and be a different voice from the mainstream. I believe a reset life starts with a reset mind.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe vulnerability and authenticity are very helpful in succeeding in my field. As a Coach, I have been the client where I did not feel heard or understood. With my coaching, I use life experiences from personal or clients to guide others into becoming the better self their future is waiting for.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Yes. Absolutely. I have been a Physician Associate for 18 years. I was introduced to it in 1999 then again in 2020/21 by my mother. I did graduate in 2004. I learned so much about the body that it helped me understand most of diseases start from the mind, how we see ourselves, and handle life through thought processes. My professional path led me here and I am grateful for it all.
